I'm not entirely sure if I did this topic years ago here or on another forum but maybe it's a good idea to revisit it. Ever have a story or two about pen and paper rpgs where something happened that you regret doing or just bad stuff happening?
Once I decided for my brothers birthday to get him some good cards for the card game Magic the Gathering. I bought two and one of the came to be a favorite of his. Called something like Demon Hordes or Demonic Hordes or something, not only did it have good attack and defense points but it could once per turn destroy ones opponents lands or mana or whatever. But on the flipside, if you don't pay some land or mana every turn the hordes will turn on you. As things go my brother ended up getting a number of this card and would use it whenever it showed up. I still to this day regret buying that card.

Not quite a horror story, more like a hilarious story, but recently I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh The Eternal Duelist's Soul. I had unlocked Seto Kaiba (one of the boss characters and in-anime-canon one of the best duelists in the world) as a duelable opponent.
I went first, and my opening hand contained mostly monsters and one trap card. I set that trap (a Waboku) and a face-down defense monster which happened to be Blast Sphere. Blast Sphere, if attacked, negates the attack and equips itself to the monster that attacked it, then on the opponent's next Standby phase will self-destruct, killing that monster and converting its attack points to direct damage to the opponent.
Both opponents start out with 8000 life points by the way.
So Kaiba immediately pulls out Cyber-Stein, a monster whose effect lets you special summon a fusion monster at the cost of 5000 life points. He summons Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (the strongest monster in the game, with 4500 attack points) and attacks my Blast Sphere.
I simply skip my next turn, the Dragon explodiates, and Kaiba goes down. The post-victory cutscene commentary just makes it all the more hilarious.
