www.hardcoregaming101.net/xexyz/xexyz.htmIn this unpronouncable NES cult classic, developer Atlus nimbly combines platforming, non-linear exploration, and shoot-em-up sequences for a wholly unique adventure.

What's with all the question marks in the article?
"like Shelza and Loboza ? appears "
"and the boss ? usually"
" Your ship has a cursor ? a first"
And more.
Also worth a mention is the fact that the Japanese version has multiple endings.

The name reminds me of Konami's Xexex.

Off all "lost games" (i.e. ones I played a lot during my childhood but couldn't remember the name and find it for many years after), this remained to be one to me for the longest time. Maybe it was because I mostly remembered it by the whole turtle story in the cutscenes (as with all NES/Famicom games in 90s Russia, I played it on a bootleg famiclone cart, which apparently had Japanese version of the game), but no matter how hard I tried to find it, I just couldn't. In the end result, I just stumbled across it by pure accident, checking out random roms on the Internet - when I've heard the soundtrack and saw the first stage, I was like, "Holy crap, it's that game!" Then I lurked around, found out about the whole story with two versions, and just had one awesome, nostalgia-filled evening, hehe

boy this article, the music is just mentioned as a afterthought at the end when it's actually AMAZING, love this game's music so much <3 (fave song is the first level and cyborg rider) Also it's not unpronounceable. It's like Texas but with a Z. Zexas. Xexyz. Someday it would be cool to get a Minibosses style cover of this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1u-0OhW4U4(also a cover of the T&C Surf Design level music but that's a different thread)
