This might be getting ahead, but Rash in the reboot is positively terrifying. IKR? Yeesh. I remember the CD more than actually playing the first KI. I liked the music, and still kinda do. KI really feels totally '90s. XD

I personally think Eyedol and Kudgel(from DKC2) are either the same thing or a reference to each other. They both wield cudgels, are big monsters, and Killer Instinct is referenced in DKC2.

Your conclusion: "Should you have the hardware to play it, there's absolutely no reason to go out and try the game straight away, as it's one of the most intense, exciting, and plain old fun fighters on offer for this generation."
Doesn't make sense, does it? You were planning on either saying "... no reason NOT to go out and try..." or "... no reason to wait to go out and try..."

Times like this I really wish I had access to the source HTML, but I think that's out of my clearance. Can somebody please, please fix that?

While KI isn't my cup of tea, I do agree with the ending sentiment of the article. It would be nice to see other franchises get another chance with modern tech, like Weaponlord or Eternal Champions.

The very third at best, considering Tobal's Udan's Dungeon and Tobal 2's Quest mode are exactly that.

Actually, they used the exact same fighting engine. Udan`s Dungeon even had you fighting all the playable characters as bosses. You might be thinking of Ehrgeiz? It had a dungeon crawler tacked on to it that used the standard Action RPG battle system instead of the fighting game's engine.
