Nintendo at E3 revealed two new Metroid games called Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid Samus Returns. Haven't seen MP4 videos but have for the other. MSR suppose to be a remake of Metroid 2. So was this the real reason the fan game AM2R was cancelled? Still, look forward for this on the 3ds just hope that it isn't an exclusive for the New 3DS or I'll have to get yet another game system.

Well I'm not flipping out at the news yet I'm still happy to see its happening. With all the indie Metroid clones we've been getting lately its just made me want to see a new official Metroid game even more.
Reminds me I still need to play AMR2 dang it.

Samus Returns looks fine enough, I guess, but I never cared for Other M's aesthetics which this seems to be drawing heavily from. Hopefully it's the /only/ thing it draws from.

Metroid is my favorite game series, and the Prime trilogy just completely blew me away when it came out. I have high hopes for Prime 4, but I am also afeared.

You can tell they announced Metroid Prime 4 to pacify angry fans. Metroid 2 remake looks, pretty good actually. It's outsourced outside their usual confidants but doesn't look too different from what Nintendo would have done to begin with.
Here's Treehouse gameplay.

I will buy Samus Returns without question. I've been wanting a dual screen Metroid since the debut of the original DS.
Prime 4, 'eh waiting to see what it brings to the table.

Welp, that's quite cool (though I think it got a bit too overhyped for what is basically just a logo and some semi-decently looking remake). If anything, it at least explains the motive behind C&Ding that fan remake, aside of just "being dicks to the fans".

Seamus Returns looks pretty ugly. It looks like it could have been 10-15 years ago. I'll still buy because it's Metroid and the action looks ok, but something about it just looks really dated.

Wouldn't it make sense that a game for the 3DS, which is about as powerful as a console from about 10 years ago, look like a game from 10 years ago? Try downloading the 3D trailer from the 3DS eShop, it looks better on the smaller, lower res screen, probably less so on the lower-pixel density XLs than the non-XLs.
