If anyone played Fable II, I’d like to know if I’m the only one who actually found parts of that game surprisingly unsettling? Wraithmarsh is the obvious example, I hate going through there. And oh... that ”cozy” winter lodge? Remember that? F*** that place, gave me an anxiety attack. There are a lot of environments in the game that makes me feel super uneasy, more so than I suppose the intention was. Even outside the obvious crypts, caves and dark woods. The more I think about it, the creepier Fable II seem. Not that you can actually die or anything, but the atmosphere was pretty thick most of the time. I read your post when I was about to post this:

It really is one of the greatest gaming jumpscares because you think it's a wintery version of Serenity Farm, another place you can move your family into, it's got this Thomas Kinkade look to it and then... well, ya know.
I was overall very impressed when I replayed Fable II last summer, it's probably the easiest game ever made, I never died even once, it's very indicative of the casual "if the player is dying that's a problem" attitude of AAA gaming at the time, but they totally nail the atmosphere they're going for, the fairy tale feel, the Monty Python esque humor coupled with creepy moments and moments of genuine drama.
It's a shame Fable III is somewhat of a rush job and that the ip is currently being wasted on a Hearthstone ripoff.
