www.hardcoregaming101.net/medievil/A small series of PS1 3D action-platformers developed by Sony Cambridge, plus a PSP quasi-remake. The hero, Dan, appeared in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale too.

I never dared played this game when I was a kid but have recently discovered these marvelous games. The article is really spot on in comparing it to Nightmare before Christmas.
But damn that starting scene of Dan waking up and his upper jaw curve into a SMILE...still canĀ“t watch it.

MediEvil was one of the first games I ever played on the PS1, unfortunately I've never gotten around to beating it.
However I really love MediEvil 2, it's one of my favorites on the PS1 and I did manage to beat it, it gave me a love of Victorian era England and it's because of the setting I'd give MediEvil 2 the edge over the original.
I last replayed MediEvil 2 in 2011 and I remember thinking it held up as still pretty fun then.
However despite being a MediEvil fan and owning a PSP I never played Resurrection, the idea of a remake just didn't really appeal to me, it's a shame we didn't get a MediEvil 3 on the PS2 instead that year, I was always curious as a kid what a third MediEvil would be about and it's nice to read up on what it would have been.
It's also a shame SCEE Cambridge flamed out and never really got to do anything on the PS3.

The MediEvil 2 page lists the British cover as Japanese. Also why the main page doesn't list the three articles as a "Game series"?

The MediEvil 2 page lists the British cover as Japanese. Also why the main page doesn't list the three articles as a "Game series"? I'll fix up the cover, but as for the other question, it depends what you're asking. On each of the game pages, it's *supposed* to say "this game is part X of series X", but this is only working inconsistently. It will still give you all of the game pages in the series to link to, it's just missing that bit of text. Some articles are also designated "game series", but that's just an internal classification we're not supposed to be using, and if other articles use it, then it's by accident (because it's redundant to other functionalities).

Okay thanks, didn't know about that and thought there was something missing.

MediEvil is pretty good. I tried to go back to these games a few years ago and ended up not getting very far (time reasons, mostly) but I've been planning on playing through them at some point since it seems like they really hold up. These games looked really cool to me as a kid but I don't think I've ever finished them.

This is one of those games I loved along with Intelligent Qube, both of which I experienced via a demo disc (possibly even the same disc) but never got a copy of.
