Finished LiEat (PC/Steam), a trilogy of short Japanese adventure games with an interconnected plot. It's interesting, but maybe it would have worked better as an anime/manga, because as games they are nice but nothing memorable. Bought the Steam version found in one of the latest Humble Bundles.

Wow, pretty impressive! Always meant to try that one, but like you said, the viewpoint is very confusing. Absolutely give it a try, when I first bought the game I thought 'ugh', but as it was back when you couldn't get half a dozen games for $1 I eventually gave it a shot and enjoyed it immensely, once you have the hang of the viewpoint the game itself is not overly difficult, save for the final boss where the game can chug a bit and eat your inputs. Otherwise an excellent dungeon crawler! Anyways, Heretic (PSP Legacy port)I have vivid memories of playing the hell out of this when shareware was a thing, but going back, it was basically only the first level I experienced! I have rectified this now and defeated D'Sparil (on skill 3), really enjoyed going through this. Never realized how big the levels were in this compared to Doom, some of them are huge. Thinking of going through another 90's FPS next, I find the exploration in sometimes maze like levels of these games much more engrossing than most modern FPS! Also I have a question in regards to the rules, can we use savestates instead of inputting passwords? Apologies if already answered!

Hitman: Contracts (PC): Black sheep of the franchise in terms of popularity and overall reception - nobody seems to like this installment as much as Silent Assassin or Blood Money, but nobody also dislikes it as much as Absolution or Codename 47. A very strange kind of entry - it's a 3rd game that takes places during storyline of 4th game, but also happens to be a compilation of unrelated missions, half of which are the ones from 1st game in the series. In other words, a semi-sequel that happens to be a prequel compilation. Yap, I'm confused too. As for the game, it's not as strong and epic in terms of atmosphere as Silent Assassin (though atmosphere here is still fantastic; it was always the strong point of even the worst Hitman games), but it's definitely better in terms of gameplay - AI isn't as bafflingly paranoidal, disguises are much more useful, levels give you more opportunities for stealth kills, and in general, you can complete the whole game without getting caught or raising an alarm. I think it's very underrated - this is the entry that transformed Hitman from fancy shooter with stealth elements into a legitimate stealth game, so it deserves a bit more respect.

Rozenkruezstille (PC) Rozenkruezstille Freudenstachel (PC) Could you do me a favor and spell semi-obscure titles like this correctly? I couldn't find any info on these before I remembered that they're called Rozenkreuz stilette. But I don't know the correct title of every game out there and it's apparentely obscure enough that Google didn't autocorrect it or even gave the correct title anywhere in the results.

Whoops! Sorry, didn't notice the typo. I'll be extra careful in the future, though fortunately I'm also unlikely to play any other games with titles THAT ridiculous.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst (Switch) I replayed this as Gunvolt on hard. I don't know why, but I had way less trouble as GV than Beck even with the increased difficulty. I didn't even use the septimal powers all that much which GV has instead of being able to fire at an angle (eventually). I described that as "game breaking" but the regular angled reflection option is just as powerful for bosses in practice so I take back the game breaking assessment.
I finished in 01:46:28 which was also about an hour shorter than my original playthrough on normal.

Iconoclasts (PC)
This is an incredible game. I reached the credits but there were clearly more secrets to find, so I'm definitely going through this game again.

Always was curious if that was better or worse than Brutal: Paws of Fury.

Always was curious if that was better or worse than Brutal: Paws of Fury. I would say better, if only for the RPG mode with the little shmup levels. It would be a standard, basically playable fighter if it weren't so slow and choppy. Well, with a little tweaking. It even has some decent tracks and nice little anime cutscenes. But man, the weird ass framerate kills it. Sometimes it'll suddenly speed up for half a second, then drop back to sluggish. The worst 16-bit fighters I've seen are the two Hokuto no Ken VS on the Super Famicom. They're so choppy that I actually feel vaguely nauseous just watching it in motion.

That's so terrible it's almost impressive in a way. Also, is the sound mix really THAT bad, or is that just an issue with the recording?
