Check out the video at GameVideos.com
Ok... Two things.
First: Awesome. Great move. Rondo of Blood finally out in English. Let's hope the localization is good. 3D and 2D versions plus SOTN? Very nice.
Second: I think I speak for everybody on the forums and hardcore gamers in general, when I say that there's no need for new 3D graphics. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. I really want to hear everybody's opinion. The only reason for this is obviously to make it marketable to the new generation that only plays 3D games, and to make it look "cooler" than the GBA and DS Castlevanias. To the rest of us, this means that even if the game still looks amazing; the bright colors, intrincated details, beautiful richness, and artistic nature of 2D Castlevania graphics is now gone. No matter how many polygons the game throws at you. This same visual appeal was found in the Ghosts 'N Goblins series, and was diminished by clunky textured polygons in the Maximo games. Yes, I know the polygon count is not the same, but I think you catch my drift.
What do you guys think?

I think as long as it plays like the original 2d version that's fine. The graphics from the original were ok, but to be up to today's standards even in 2d they would have had to be mostly redrawn any way. From what I saw in the video it looked fine to me.
But this makes game 2 that makes be feel that I need to buy a PSP that I have been holding out on.

Won't you rather stick with the Rondo/SOTN graphics? I mean, unless it looks like Devil May Cry, I really don't want any 3D graphics on my Castlevanias. And yes, this IS a must buy. I'm putting my pants on, going to get a PSP.

i think they should include the Orginal DraculaX and make it unlockable when you Completed the 2 games or something like that, but i'm sure that won't happen so no Gif intro like the PC-engine version Pitty -_-

Man, I'm totally buying this. It would be awesome to have a legit US release copy of Dracula X, and since I already own a PSP, there are no obstacles for my enjoying the game again after having nearly beaten it on an emulated ISO version.

Yeah, I was a big fan of the remade Megaman X game on the PSP. They used 3D models but overall they made so many improvements over the original that it made the game feel pretty new again. I'm sure the remade Dracula X won't disappoint as well. Plus, it's always great when they include the original as well so you can choose which one you want to play.

I didn't think Shattered Soldier was going to be good and it turned out sweet. So, hopefully the same goes for the new remake of Drac X.

3D Graphics? Ick. But at least the original is unlockable. It's still not enough to get me to buy a PSP yet, unless there's another price drop.

(unless your last name is Kojima) Eh? Anyway, I'm really excited about this compilation. I've been wanting to own an official English release of Rondo of Blood (hell, any official release) for some time now. I only wish that they'd include the additional features from the Saturn SotN (Maria mode, speed boots, and whatnot) for the version here. Oh well, it's hard to complain considering everything else being offered here. I still don't have a PSP yet, but Konami's recent output is making the hold-off all the more difficult (but dammit, where's my localized Suikoden I + II??).

Anyone play Ultimate Ghouls & Ghosts? That was an old 2D classic series turned 2.5D, and it turned out *FANTASTIC*. And I have full faith in Konami to do the same with Castlevania (and from the video, it looks like they're already well on their way to meeting this goal!). I, for one, am very pleased. (:
