I just ordered Parodius Portable for PSP and Trigger Heart Exelica for DC from Play-Asia. I'm still waiting on my special edition of Last Hope for DC, too. I'm really into shooters lately especially for the DC. I recently got Under Defeat for DC and thought it was amazing. What shooters are you guys currently playing?

Heh heh, the 1st thought in my mind was:
"He got the big one... Radiant Silvergun..."
Are there any other shooters currently hitting triple figures consistently, other than RSG? My God.
The last shooter I played was Shienryu for Saturn, ironically enough just the other night or so. I'm a sucker for that game. It ain't great, but it's good fun no matter. Blatant Raiden clone, though. Still, you gotta love that Octobot boss!

I'm still playing Border Down off and on; I've been in love with that one since I bought it some time ago.
I'm looking forward to Karous, though - Radirgy was pretty good, though flawed, but I really liked the style of the game. I'm hoping it's an improvement over that game, though.

Yeah I really want a copy of Border Down but the prices have been crazy on ebay. I don't think I'll get RSG as I believe it will be re-released sometime in the next few years. I don't know about Karous as Milestone left a pretty bad taste in my mouth after Chaos Field. I'm not a fan of that game.

Sweet purchase-- I've been playing Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius and Sexy Parodius (man... what a dumb name) for PSX... As well as Radiant Silvergun; my favorite shooter of all time.

Border down is not worth the insane price I paid $70 for my copy and was disapointed

Most recent Shooter Purchase? Gradius Collection for PSP I think. The shooter I've played last was Parodius for Famicom.

I bought the Limited Editon of Border Down when it first came out, but I never played it, in fact I never even opened it. Now I see people on eBay trying to sell it for $300!! LOL, good luck!
My most recent shooter purchase was Last Hope for DC, Salamander Portable, and Parodius Portable. I cannot get enough of Sexy Parodius ;D

somehow I fail to see RSG as the "big one" concerning prices when games like 'Eliminate Down' and 'Panorama Cotton' fetch even higher prices on Ebay.
But yeah, RSG is marvelous. But I don't see a re-release anytime soon. If it does end up happening, I'll be a happy and supportive panda.

Last shmup purchase was Gigawing Generations and Raideen III before that. Both are better than most would let you to believe, just don't pay too much for them.

Yeah, I really want a Japanese PS2 for the PS2 and PSX shooters from Japan that I missed. I was actually thinking of buying a Japanese PS3 due to that ability plus the I can still play US Blue Ray (because of the the new region coding) and PS3 games (because of lack of region lockout) on it. I unfortunately don't have the money quite yet.

The problem with getting a Japanese PS3 is that, while there's no region coding, the games will boot up in Japanese mode even if you get American versions. I don't know if you can change the language, but in cases like Resistance, you'll get a censored version, which more or less blows. Anyway, Last Hope really isn't too great. It looks and sounds fantastic, but it comes off as really amateurish, which makes sense considering it's a homebrew. It's tough as nails too - I can't beat the first boss, but then again, I didn't really play for too long. It REALLY bothers me that your orb is really selective as to what it will absorb/destroy and what it won't. Check out this amusing thread at the SHMUPS forum: shmups.system11.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6426&start=360It's basically: GAMERS: This game has flaws. DESIGNER: The problem is you or your TV, not the game. GAMERS: Insolence! And it continues like that for awhile. It's cool that the dev is reading comments but it's clear he's pretty arrogant about it.

I would get a Japanese PS2 just because the PS3 is a money Dumpster and I'm not sure if the Backword compatability issues were fixed with the PS3 yet either.
