Holy shite... I just got Snatcher today, and it only took an hour for me to fall in love with the game. Is that too soon? I was hooked as soon as... (SPOILER)
That extremely horrifying scream emitted from the old factory... holy fuck. Jean-Jack really must have suffered... poor sumnabitch.
I got hit five friggin' times in the first gun battle, so I need to adjust my gun's aim next time around, but other than that, this game is absolutely tops. I've been on an adventure bend lately, and I'm glad I got Snatcher today to fuel it. If you've got any more comments on it, do fire away... but please, keep spoilers obscured under black text if ya mention them. Haven't gotten THAT far yet, ya know. ;D

After playing Metroid I wanted to be a bounty hunter. Same goes with watching DOG.

No, Snatcher is different. After playing it, I realised that I wasted my life chasing dreams that just aren't going to come true, and that I should have studied to be a detective as soon as I entered college. If I had played Snatcher 12 years ago, I'd be in the FBI today.

Snatcher made me wish I had studied Japanese when I was fourteen.
You see, I got a PC-Engine like three years ago, and Snatcher was one of the games included with it.

Well, I just beat it. Man... what an awesome game. Seriously. That's... really all I have to say. ... actually, I've a question on my brain: Are the Snatcher and Metal Gear series really in the same universe? At first, I thought all the links to MG were just because both games were done by Kojima, but after a certain character's appearance in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, I'm really starting to think that they are on the very same timeline! Well... 'cept for one discrepancy, but it's an UBER-SPOILER. Highlight the black text below: It's about Pettrovich Modnar... or Madnar, as the case may warrant. Either or, I'm pretty sure this is the same Pettrovich that developed Metal Gear. But... wasn't he killed by Solid Snake in MG2? And yet, he dies of old age oh-so much later in Snatcher as well. Now can anyone explain their way around this?Oh, and for the record, Gillian is a total pimp. ;D

It was probably meant to be in the same universe originally. However, Snatcher came out after Metal Gear but before Metal Gear 2, and from there, Kojima kept mucking with the timeline.
What's this reference in Portable Ops that you speak of? I haven't played it at all.
The ending practically made me tear up, especially the last shot of Metal Gear. I keep wishing for a sequel, but I don't even know how they'd do it.

Harry also mentions that he took Metal Gear's name and design from the "Metal Gear menace" of the late 20th century.

It would be cool if MGS4 has some more minor things that definitely tie it into Snatcher's world.
After Grasshopper finishes No More Heroes, Suda51 says he is going to begin his collaboration with Hideo Kojima (the enigmatic Project-S). The rumors are that, since Suda51 is a fan, that Project-S is a new Snatcher game. Project-S is going to be on the Wii at the moment which would provide ideal control for such a game. If this becomes true it will be the greatest thing ever. The other reason people think it's true is because in a recent IGN interview, Suda is very frank about every answer he gives EXCEPT for anything regarding Project-S being Snatcher, to which he gives the no comment at this time type responses.

I always assumed that Snatcher was meant to be another "altenate universe" that contained some of the same events in the past as the main Metal Gear series, but then diverged at some point. Sort of like how Ghost Babel and the Acid games take place in a different timeline than the main MGS series.
And I'm also curious as to the Snatcher reference in Portable Ops.

And I'm also curious as to the Snatcher reference in Portable Ops. But of course! I haven't played the game, so this is just what I heard... there's not really spoilers, but if you want to preserve the surprise, I'll mention it in black text. QUASI-SPOILER: One of the unlockable characters is none other than Benson Cunningham, JUNKER Chief. I find this highly interesting because in his bio, it says that he was a part of FOX HOUND before moving on to establish the JUNKER organization! Of course, now that I think of it, since Portable Ops takes place in the sixties, there's no way Benson would live to see the mid 20th century.
