Ok I only have 3 out of the like 3 billion that were made for Sega's legendary console
But I got into a debate with somebody same person I've mentioned in other threads about exactly what the pinnicle of DC Shmups are.
I belive it doesn't get any better than Zero Gunner 2 every body else thinks it's Ikaruga and as you all should know by now I own Ikaruga twice but I find it too simplistic you just flip a ship and NOT get blown up and it's entirely possible to beat the game with out firing one shot.
Treasure's OTHER dreamcast game I find a bit more fun Bangai-O FTW!
I love Zero Gunner 2 most Psykyo shooters are Godly.
Anybody else have their 2 cents about the Best DC Shmup?

My absolute faves are Psyvariar 2 and Under Defeat. Border Down is also amazing. And I need not go into how much I adore Ikaruga. I really don't like Radiligy though... I find it to be extremely boring. The soundtrack is great for about 2 minutes, then it gets reallll annoying after that. I really, really, REALLY want a Lords of Thunder sequel on DC though. I have wanted this forever. It'll never happen, I know (especially now, what with the ceasing of GD-Rom production), but that doesn't stop me from wanting. Hang on... I just had a thought (Woah, stand back... this could be dangerous)!!! Couldn't developers theoretically still make Dreamcast games, but just use CD-Rom's instead? The Dreamcast does read CD's... this I know for a fact ... and besides, it's not like a shmup needs the entire capacity of a GD-Rom anyways. Thoughts?

I find myself thinking that the Saturn and j-PS2 are better systems for shmups

I find myself thinking that the Saturn and j-PS2 are better systems for shmups All dreamcast has are top down Shmups Save for Last Hope Bangai O and Border down. BAKA GAIJIN as I'll call him from now on when ever I make a post based on a convo I have with him doesn't seem to realize this.

Gunbird2 and Giga Wing are my favs. Giga Wing2's polygons hurt my eyes I really wish they would have stayed 2-D.
I've never tried Ikaruga or the Milestone shmups.
Out of everygame I own for DC Gunbird2 gets the most playtime, wait let me refrase that out of every game I own at all Gunbird2 gets the most playtime.

I own it twice and will get it a 3rd time but I think Ikaruga is overrated for how little it actually has

Damn... I really need to learn how to import Dreamcast games. But as for games that came to America... does Bangai-O fit the bill? It's hardly a conventional shmup, but there is often a huge shitload of projectiles on the screen. ;D

Sotenga, I recommend the DC-X for importing Japanese DC games. It's simple to use and requires no modding. It's just like the Freeloader for the GC in that you just put the disc in and after it loads place your Japanese game. Play-Asia has it for a good price: www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-w-49-en-70-uj.html
