The one thing that's bugged me is that my 360 scratched Oblivion up pretty badly. I had the system lying flat on my dresser, and I never once moved the system while I was playing. Hope that doesn't happen to the rest of my games. I have a feeling the scratches are the major reason why Oblivion occasionally crashes.

I just hope my JP 360 doesn't randomly crap out on me. So far it hasn't been giving me any problems, and I'm trying to keep it as dust-free as possible now.

I *heard* that Dead Rising had some dicey control over the 360 (causing overheating problems..?) so that could contribute to the DREs in some way I guess.

That too my 3 red lights were caused by my 360 being upright and plugged into a power strip. I also keep my power brick on a block of wood off my carpet Playing Brain Age my DS froze.......ZOMG DSes have issues too *rolls eyes* I've only had 1 system die on me in the 23 years I've been gaming and that's my beloved dreamcast I've got a 360 from around launch; it's upright, it's plugged into a power strip and the brick isn't on a carpet, but it is in a cramped place and I've had no issues. If a company allows the console to be stood on it's side, and standing it on it's side causes problems, then it's a defective console. Also, as far as DS's go, I've had my fair share of issues with the DS Lite. My first froze occasionally and had a bad habit of not recognizing carts when inserted. I got it replaced and so far it's only frozen once, so hopefully it doesn't freeze again.

You're just lucky but the Manual does state you shouldn't plug the system into a power strip

That manual is junk, then. Electronics should always be plugged into a surge protector strip, as it protects the thing from voltage spikes.

Are you aware the power brick doubles as a protector?
DUH

Hey! Hey! Let's not fight over this. Yes, we all know that most, if not all, Microsoft products are insecure, hog too much memmory and are generally plain sloppy in all respects.
Now I'm asking, if some discs cause DRE's, shouldn't there be some sort of "NEW AND IMPROVED" version that prevents those things? Sony had the Platinum best-seller things that allowed developers to remove some quirks from their games, so why shouldn't Microsoft do the same?

Are you aware the power brick doubles as a protector? DUH Q: What happens when there is a surge, and your brick shorts out? A: See, if you had a protector, that wouldn't be fried now, would it? I don't appreciate being talked to like I'm some dumb shit 13 year old. We're not all kids here, you know.

Ah yes, forgot about the patching, but is there a patch yet to make those games non-lethal to themselves and/or the console?
