I hear the Neo Fami is also good but still doesn't get Castlevania 3 right

Castlevania 3 uses the MMC5, a memory mapper which is only used in like two or three other games and is apparently difficult to emulate. Back during the burgeoning NES emulation scene in the late 90s, the few emulators that could handle Castlevania 3 perfectly were considered as GODS.
I have a Yobo Fami-clone, and it's not great, but it's generally functional. Castlevania 3 obviously doesn't work, but curiously, Akumajou Densetsu does, and with the additional sound channels, which DOESN'T work on an American NES. Any unlicensed game I've tried (Tengen, Color Dreams) does not work. Additionally, the sound is...off. Like it doesn't sound bad, necessarily, it just sounds different. I didn't even realize it until I recorded some side-by-side comparisons - maybe I'll put them up later.
My model also uses the standard Atari 7-pin for the controllers and not the standard NES plugs. The included controllers are not very good.
