Oh bother! Why is the forum search set to the past 7 days by default?

'cause the search feature on this kind of forum blows.

Well, anyway, I've bought the DS game, so I might be able to comment on some of the details, but I'm not really up for adding a full-on write up and/or amending the article, that and I didn't play Shun on the playstation, so I can't really comment on how well the physics hold up, though the fans seem to agree that this one mostly nails it.

Article update: www.hardcoregaming101.net/umihara/umihara.htmIn addition to a rewrite, this includes a better examination of how crappy the PSP game is, as well as a review of the DS port, and most importantly, the new 3DS game which was recently released in the US, and I think is either out already in Europe or is coming.

Sorry that I never got around to checking back on this. Life has been pretty chaotic.
This was probably just a formatting issue moving the text over.
It should read "It's likely intended to…" or something along those lines.
When you take out the original self-depricating joke here, the remark kind of comes across as a bit snotty.
A better replacement would be "especially for new players still learning the ropes"

Tnat's pretty neat. Seems like the Vita version of Sayonara will still be the best since it contains the original game as well (sounds like the original is coming as a separate release for PC).

Another small not so indie developer company bites the dust. I always get sad when I hear stuff like that; but at least the games are available on steam...

Jinkies! I missed that news. Strange they aren't sticking with the Yumi's Odd Odyssey name. Now to wait for the Steam sale.
I already purchased the third game on 3DS, but the other two still have distinct levels, right?

Not sure if this was mentioned but as of a few weeks ago, all three Kawases are back on Steam thanks to Degica.

And those games are now on sale on Steam at 50% off. As always, there's the question of whether to buy now or wait for them to turn up in an even cheaper bundle somewhere.

This article brought this series to my attention when it was first written way back in 2008; since then, I've gone on to get physical copies of the Super Famicom game and DS game, and I now own all of the games through Steam as well. I fucking love Umihara Kawase, and consider it one of my all-time favorite series to this day <3 Jinkies! I missed that news. Strange they aren't sticking with the Yumi's Odd Odyssey name. Now to wait for the Steam sale. I already purchased the third game on 3DS, but the other two still have distinct levels, right? Yes, every Umihara Kawase game has unique levels. There might be one or two levels in the sequels that are reminiscent of levels from one of the previous games, but 99% of the stages in each game are completely unique.
