www.hardcoregaming101.net/bonk/bonk.htmHudson's caveman mascot, who started off on the PC Engine/TG-16, and eventually graduated on to other platforms. I've had the first two games for like a decade, but never really sat down and played them until I started to write this a few weeks ago. Bonk's Revenge and Super Genjin 2 in particular are excellent, and I love Air Zonk too.

This is one of those series that I've been interested in seeing here for ages. Air Zonk is completely badass.

i don't know how long people are trying turbo grafx 16 titles out, but one i find fun, that's an import/rom translation is photograph boy(rom translation title)/gekibo: gekisha boy. has a ps2 sequel called polaroid pete(european)/gekibo 2, i don't know anything about it though, other than it's existence.

There are like four or five games in this series. It would be great to see it at HG101.

If I hadn't read this, I would have continued to think that Super Bonk was an amalgam of the TG-16 titles instead of being pretty much Bonk 4. I really want to play the SNES/SFC ones now.

I absolutely need to pick up a real copy of Super Genjin 2. I'm really surprised at its quality, it looks completely fantastic and has a lot of the hilarious stuff that was in the first two games but missing in the rest.
I also need to stress how awesome the first level of Bonk's Revenge is. It's so strangely relaxing, except for that random boulder at the end...

I just looked into this. It seems there are only two games. I had thought that Polaroid Pete and Gekisha Boy 2 were different games. The other release is The Cameraman, a port of the first title for PlayStation. I had mistakenly assumed that these were all four completely different titles.

found it and tried it, same thing with a baseball field added in as the final stage. kinda worth it for the new stage, but you have to go through everything else you're already familiar with on the tg16/pc engine version to get there.

The only Bonk game I've ever played is the first in its BC Kid Amiga incarnation. It's really a great game and perhaps one of the best platformers for that machine. And if I'm correct the music was rewritten by Chris Huelsbeck. After having read the whole article I feel like playing Air Zonk though.

Picked up a typo on the second paragraph of Air Zonk. Something like:
"... Bonk stands out due to the INCREDIBLY arsenal of weaponry."
It's a typo I make frequently, though, along with confusing "Honesty" and "Honestly." Plus, you should probably call him Zonk in that sentence to be consistent with other instances.
Also, Bonk/Zonk has ten different friends (two for each level in Auto mode), not nine as it says in the article.
