DKC is coming along nicely. So far, I've covered the SNES trilogy and DK64, and I'm about to jump into Jungle Beat on Wii for the first time. After that, all that will remain is DKCR and the DK Land trilogy (which I'm dreading). I've only played the first Donkey Kong Land, so I don't know about the other two, but it's great. I personally think it to be one of the best platformers on the monochrome Gameboy. It's nothing to dread. Update on Storm Caliber: There's a third game in the series, Clustia's Final Attack that I was not aware about until just now. This is a larger series than I thought. It may take longer than expected.

Well hey, if you want to contribute your two cents on DK Land, I'd be more than happy to let you cover that part of the article. You sound more worthy than me, for sure.

Actually I've always hated the DKL games. Everything just blended together and the sprites were far too large to properly keep up with the game's speed and the scrolling, which rendered them pretty much unplayable to me. I really wanted to like them, but alas, I couldn't. I hope you're also covering all the changes made for the GBA ports of the DKC trilogy as I'd love to see them all being explained in one place. And are you also covering all the DK spinoffs? Like Barrel Blast, Donkey Konga or Coconut Crackers which eventually turned into "It's Mr. Pants" or Jungle Climber which is sort of a platformer. I don't really like selective articles on here all that much, so I'd rather like to see an entirely comprehensive article of everything Donkey Kong, including spinoffs and the classic arcade games. Would that be possible?

Sorry, Keeper, but my interest is just on the DK platformers. Actually, I was originally just going to do the SNES trilogy, but I decided to expand upon that a bit. If there's a bit you feel I left out, you're welcome to contribute! But other that, I have no interest in games like Barrel Blast or Donkey Konga.
I am discussing the GBC and GBA ports of the SNES games, going into particular detail about the GBA version of DKC3 since I find the alternate soundtrack to be quite the conundrum.

Anyone interested in doing a bit on the Bugs Bunny Time travel games on the PS1 ? (Lost in Time/Time Busters) ? They're realy alot more entertaining then some people would give them credit for.

I've only played the first one, so it might take a while to play through the other two and write them out. Is this okay? I used to have the book adaptation of Donkey Kong Land when I was a kid, but I have no idea where it is now. Looking back, it's pretty juvenile and kind of bad, but I thought it was cool when I was a kid. Should I include something on that too? Thanks.

Sure. Sounds charming. My writing style is pretty personal and full of anecdotes. So you're for sure doing this? It'll probably take me another month to play through Jungle Beat and DKCR. And don't forget, there's a Japan-exclusive GBC version of DK Land 3.

The Genpei Toumaden article is still in progress, it's just been really hard to find the time to work on it due to work-related stuff.
Do we announce ideas for Weekly Kusoge here? I was considering writing about the first Sherlock Holmes game by Towa Chiki (the one where he kicks people). I'd also eventually like to write about Werewolf/Warwolf, but I'm not sure if that's so much of a kusoge as a not so good game with awesome music.

The other two are probably pretty similar.

In case you don't receive a response, and you're especially keen regarding a pitch, it might also be worth PM'ing one of the staff so we can make a mental note. We all tend to be busy with real-life stuff, so don't always have the chance to pop in and look here. I'm not sure if everyone who posted here over the last couple of pages received a response via PM, but here goes: * A look at the Mother series sounds good, especially covering the whole of ito's life. I have an excellent English interview with him from the Famicom Almanac, PM and let me know if you want scans of that. As for anyone else pitching the series, I have no idea. Would be best to liaise directly with DiscoAlucard, since it's a popular series and we might have had other pitches. * A piece on Floigan Bros with input from the developer could go down really well. We like developer related content. * I'm not sure about Bugs Bunny. Are the time travel games a separate sub-section to the overall BB license? I'm not sure if any other reader wanted to cover the series. Might be best to PM DiscoAlucard directly - though I do know he's been very busy recently. Usually kusoge entries are announced in the kusoge thread in the feedback forum. The Sherlock Holmes one sounds OK. Was Warwolf a standalone game as opposed to a series? Do you think it might warrant a standalone article? I've played the first couple of levels and always kinda liked it - it's a rough around the edges NES game typical of the era. Plus stuff like our Low G Man article go down well. The Genpei Toumaden article is still in progress, it's just been really hard to find the time to work on it due to work-related stuff. So you're covering the original game, PCE sequel plus FC board game? Neat, I've always liked that bizarre series. I scrolled back through this topic and noticed you were asking about vouching regarding receiving a press kit related to the series. Did you get a reply to this? Staff have HG101 themed email addresses now, so if you have a PR contact address and pre-written email, myself or derboo can send it off for you. PM me or derboo if you need to.

* I'm not sure about Bugs Bunny. Are the time travel games a separate sub-section to the overall BB license? Well they pretty much are an unofficial series, with Time Busters being a wholesale improved version of the original concept. A proper comparisson between the two versions might be a good idea, especialy as most people could look past these games and call them a cheap license mess, which considering the amount of backtracking necessary to complete a stage, classic cartoon refferences and overall lastability, can't be any further from the truth, especialy seeing my latest experience with BAM! Entertainment's efforts on the Playstation.

As for Warwolf, it's a stand-alone game; I've seen it listed on kusoge sites in Japan, but... to be honest it's a better Wolverine game than that LJN released. Mostly I find it ridiculous because of how they don't really stick to whether his blade hands are "permanent" or retractable. And the soundtrack is totally awesome. On Genpei, yup, plus the ports; if anything though I'll probably need to ask ryzuki or jonny2x4 for help again on translation checks. Another thing I've been weighing over was whether to have a section about the historical characters, since they've been in a lot of other games but still aren't all that well known here. There's also a lot of easter eggs in the first game.

I'd like to do an article on Beatmania, but keep it to the original series.
The only problems I'm running into are as follows:
-There's not too many other ways to says "song(s)" so there's a bit of repetition.
-Getting screengrabs of the arcade games. I can get Playstation and portable screencaps fine, but it'll take a while going via MAME for every arcade release, plus a few shots from early beatmania IIDX (maybe) and beatmania III.

-There's not too many other ways to says "song(s)" so there's a bit of repetition. Tracks, tunes, stages, levels. These come to my mind immediately and I'm pretty sure there should be quite a bit more alternatives in the case of such an article. I'd definitely welcome a Beatmania article, however.

I'd also like to volunteer to write a piece about Fire Bam for the Famicom Disk System. As Rey here can attest to I have occupied myself quite extensively with the game the last few days.
