...what would I have to do?
Constraint: I know that the GBA plays GB and GBC games by standard, but I wanted to know if a flash cart like device existed for the GBA, so I could play GB roms off the GBA.
Also, how is GB/GBC emulation on the DS? I know that the DS itself sadly doesn't play those type of games anymore, so I would have to use emulation, wouldn't I?
I don't have a GBA (SP) yet, but I'm thinking about getting one, but as you can see above, I want to know if I need one to play the entire handheld library of Nintendo.

I can vouch that Goomba does a damn good job.

So...
If I buy a DS Lite, and an 3-in-1 Expansion Pack for Slot2, do I need an Emulator to play GBA game roms? Or do I put them on the Expansion Pack memory and run them from there?
How is the speed for Lameboy (the GB/GBC emulator)? Original speed?
And what is the difference in speed between Goomba and using the above method? Is there one?

I think you should ask those questions on www.gbatemp.net 's forums. You'll get your answers and more.

Or you can ask me.
Lameboy runs 95% of GB/GBC games perfectly, even gets the SGB borders too.
If you buy a DS lite and a 3-in-1, you should be pretty much set for life.

Maybe I'll sign up for GBAtemp. I somehow don't like joining a forum for only one or two questions... Haz: Thank you. Do you know about the other stuff I asked?

Oh yeah. There are GBA flash carts, just look around.
You need an emulator to play any kind of GB/C game in slot-2.
Also, I've never used Goomba, so I can't answer that one.

Again, go to GBAtemp. You'll find most of the answers you seek in their forums (check the stickies). If not, ask, they won't mind.

I have a GBA flashcart. I'm very picky about emulating games as perfect as possible, so I use Goomba for GB games (works perfect with 99% of the games), SMSAdvance for Game Gear (works perfect with all GG games), and the recently updated GoombaColor for GBC (works perfect with 60%/70% of the titles).
You could take it even further and emulate SNES, PCEngine, and Master System, but you'll run into problems like resolution differences and no sound.
I never tried LameBoy, but recently it's possible to run it on a DS even though (I heard) the compatibility list is small. GoombaColor for DS has also recently started development.
The most complete, common setups people have are a 3-in-1 flashcart for GBA ROMs and emulating GB, GG, and GBC; plus a DS flashcart for DS ROMs. Yes, 2 flashcarts.
The only reason you can't run GBA ROMs from a DS flashcart is that these work exclusively off of Slot-2, and DS flashcarts are inserted in Slot-1.
Other questions, let me know.
