www.hardcoregaming101.net/dragonbuster/dragonbuster.htmI always thought Dragon Buster was such an awesome title for a game. Then I actually played it, and uhh...yeah. It wasn't that great. Well, that's kind of an unfair judgment though...the game's from 1984, and even though the control is really weird, it's also an incredibly innovative game, ahead of its time in many ways. It's a dungeon crawling action RPG that introduced oft-seen features like map screens, double jumps, and dashing. It's heavily influential even though it's hard to play nowadays. There was also a Famicom-only sequel that's mostly unrelated except in name, and Dragon Valor, a PSOne "re-imagining" that's actually more of a beat-em-up. There was also a Dragon Buster minigame in Tales of the Abyss, which is also featured here. Next up, I think, are the shooter games by Namco - Dragon Spirit and Dragon Blade. Confusing, I know...

Nice article. I remember playing the ROM of the NES version of the original and having a lot of fun (though I thought it was a little slow.)
Hm, I'm tempted to play that PS1 game.

I just took a quick look at this article, and one thing that jumps out at me is that you've mislabeled Tales of Dragon Buster as being part of a Playstation game, when the text states it's part of a Playstation 2 game.
ETA: Okay, just read through the whole thing.
"There are five different level themes: Cave, Tower, Graveyard, Mountain and Ruins. Although the actual level designs are different, each has a different background, and style of layout."
The bolded section of this sentence seems unclear- I thnk it's because of the use of the word 'although'. Are you trying to say that there are five different visual themes but each level has a different layout?
"Luckily, there are a couple of easy ways to kill them, and thats by using the powerful magic spells that you get from minibosses."
You say 'a couple' here, but then only list one way... You should probably say "... there is an easy way...". You're also using 'thats' when you should be using 'that's'. The sentence after this one feels really awkward, too, although I don't have any specific suggestions for it.
"The Japanese Plug-in-Play system is fairly obscure and is titled "Dragon Buster 100". It's a much harder game, but thankfully, you can cycle through your magic, which means you can save your powerful fire magic for later. Namco took out the map and opted for linearity instead. It has horizontal levels that contain only four enemies, with a dragon at the end of the level. After you clear twenty levels, the game shows you Celia in a bunny girl costume saying how great you are and that you must play more. Then the game restarts with your enemy count at 100 and makes you ask yourself why you just wasted your time."
I take it that teh goal of this game over 20 levels in to defeat 100 enemies, but you never actually say that in the text.
There's no MP3 link in the 'Dragon Buster' section- the text is there, but the actual link is missing.
From the Dragon Valor section:
"While Dragon Balor is cool in concept, it definitely overstays its welcome"
Typo on the game's name. The MP3 section in this section is missing, too.
I notice that at the bottom of the article you've got a link to a board game version of the game- maybe you ought to stick that in a "related media" section with a very short blurb, like many of the other articles do for anime adaptions.
I'd say this is a good start, but I think it really needs another round of editing... A lot of the text feels kind of awkward in ways I can't quite put my finger on.

Some nit-picks:
Cave should be plural here.
My guess is you were going for "so many"
"Than" is misspelled here.
"change" is missing here.
Same exact phrase used twice, might wanna change the second mention to something else.
Implies that you didn't list any improvements at all in the previous paragraph, when in fact you did, feels odd.
Two "ands" before a period.

Yeah, you're right, I gave it another run through and fixed up the suggested areas, as well as other areas. Should be better now. The MP3s aren't uploaded yet though, so the links aren't up yet.

Duly noted. Looks like there was a Windows release too.

YES! Dragon Spirit next!
The NES version is my favorite version of it. Mainly because of the soundtrack, which is on a inferior soundchip compared to the Arcade/TG16 versions, but it manages to sound louder and with much more impact.
And about Dragon Buster:
"However, it feels rather strange for a Famicom ga,e, which usually feature constant background music with unique tracks for each area."
Typo.
"Every few stages, you'll find Celia after defeating a dragon, but then she'll be swept away again, and your quest resumes"
Actually, you have to beat the game 5 (or 8? I can't remember) times to get the real ending. The the real last Dragon is red or at least the MSX version has a secret about that red dragon appearing or not. Don't remember much about it. The MSX version has many additions that the Arcade one doesn't have such as a longer ending and an intro if I'm not mistaken.
And according to Arcade-History: "Namco released a boardgame based on this game (same name) in 1985 (in Japan only) : You roll the dice to move around the board and complete quests. The game includes a variety of event cards, charts for randomizing events and encounters, counters for monsters and items and such. The goal of this game is to kill the dragon and rescue the princess."

So this is where Dragon Valor comes from. I played it in 1999 and it was totally forgettable, but I don't remember if it was because it was the Japanese version and I couldn't understand it.

Dragon Buster was also released for the Sharp X1. The conversion was made by Dempa: It's more or less faithful to the original, but it runs at a pretty sluggish pace ...
