They're wrong. Leynos has always been "Assault Suit." Lots of people are just really careless about names. They're both written the same in Japanese though. Except there's this too: It does look like the sequel is consistently "Assault Suit" though. also, on Metal Warriors (I really should email Sharpe again to see whatever happened to the plans for a GBA port), while it's true that the levels are generally pretty unremarkable compared to Cybernator, special mention should be give to the large burrowing boss units you have to stop in mission 7 - having parts of a level get destroyed like that, even as part of a script, was pretty rare bacck then. Having to back that huge battleship back in the port in the third stage was also pretty cool.

My only real complaint is that all the screenshots from Valken 2 seem to be from the very first battle, and there's really not a lot of anything there. It's fine if you don't like it, but when you're trying to pass on information it looks a bit sloppy. Especially as the other games (and even Metal Warriors, a game that has nothing directly to do with the series) get more coverage and better screenshots.

Anyone beat Metal Warriors on a real SNES?
The ending seems to get mysteriously cut off right before the credits end. I suspect it must be an emulation issue since all the youtube videos of the ending (which are done with emulators) get strangely cut on the same place. The only way to be really sure is if someone beat it on an actual SNES.

Target Earth has to be up there in the list of worst cart artwork. Mine personally is the standard black and white label, but with a nasty coffee stain sploshed in the middle.
Does anyone know if the publisher, Dreamworks, ever published anything else, or were they a one game, fly by night enterprise?

Despite having great ideas the game is SHAMEFUL in comparison to Assault Suits on the same system :\ Also: with a name like Metal Warriors they missed the chance to refer to wimps and posers needing to leave the hall

I actually took shots up until at least the 4th battle, but might not've used them. Although it would be hard to tell, considering everything looks the exact same regardless! I don't know what else to say, other than that it's a huge Front Mission ripoff without the good parts of Front Mission, and tremendously slow to boot. Metal Warriors is much more in the spirit of the rest of the games than this.

Am I the only one who absolutely hated the sound effects in Metal Warriors? Seriously, the noise of Nitro's gun, however cool the robot might look, that laser sound it makes is one of the weakest weapon sounds in existence.
BTW, I know this is a really dumb question, but do you have pictures of all the Leynos 2 suits? As a mecha freak, I kind of want to see them.

Also: with a name like Metal Warriors they missed the chance to refer to wimps and posers needing to leave the hall About the closest they ever got to that was an old magazine ad that said you shouldn't play this game if you're a milk toast yellow bellied sissy-whatever. Can't find it though. Maybe I'll pull out my stack of old mags and scan it.

On a side note, what are the odds anyone can translate what gets said during ASV's suicide scene? Or the extra, secret message after the final screen at the end? If you can supply the screens to me I could translate them probably. I've done some translation before

Didn't the ASV translation take care of that?

"If your mech is damaged, you can just find an empty one, hop out if your old pile of junk, and come back fighting at full strength."
Kurt, you forgot to fix this typo.
