Hey guys, Kurt is about to put up an Escape Velocity article I threw together last night and into today, and I was wondering if you guys had any extra information concerning the game. It's basically a Mac exclusive game series with sandbox-type elements along the lines of Wing Commander: Privateer. The main thing I'm wondering about is what games could be adequately compared to it. I know Privateer and Star Control compare to it, but I also heard about this Genesis game called "Star Flight", and I was wondering how it might compare to the Escape Velocity series. The article can be found here: www.hardcoregaming101.net/escapevelocity/escapevelocity.htm

cool, I'll try the demo of the sequel and see how it compares (though apparently (sadly) the full version of the game uses Starforce for copy protection, from what I can tell)

Looking over that Wikipedia article, I completely forgot about Elite - that should probably be at least mentioned in there somewhere.
I've never played it, though - although some olde type magazines (either Retro Gamer or games(tm)) award it the "Best Game Ever" award, so we know there's a small group of British dudes somewhere that really really like it.

Making sure I posted the whole sentence, so if it was a mistake from my part, you can at least see what motivated the confusion.
*and its populated system.
[Assuming the with was not supposed to be in the sentence]
*without damaging your status by attacking peaceful ships
