I never knew there are other versions of Moonwalker besides the Genesis and Arcade versions.
Still a great game.

Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but wasn't the Arcade version of Moonwalker released before the Sega Genesis version?

Addition for the Moonwalker article:
I discovered, long ago when I owned the game, that you can trigger the robot in every level non-boss (?) level by rescuing the girls in the right order. I think it's not all of them, just two or three, or maybe you have to rescue one particular girl first. Anyway, that will trigger the shooting star, which must be caught to turn into the robot.
Sorry I can't provide more details, it's been a LONG time.

This also reminds me of an amusing situation, involving Micheal Jackson and games. A few years back me and my little sister were at a theme park called Luna Park, and we saw this simulator ride. It had a long line, but we waited for it anyway, because it looks cool and most rides had long lines anyway. Upon getting in, we saw that it was equipped with these little guns in front of each seat, fairly unusual for a simulator ride, so you could play a shooter game as the ride was doing its thing. Anyway, when the game started, Micheal Jackson came on the screen, and me, my sister and all the other people in the ride started shooting him. Just the fact that everyone in the simulator did the same thing as soon as MJ appeared on the screen always struck me as amusing (I have no idea what the ride was called, but it was worth the wait...though not good enough that we wanted to wait in line a second time) I assume they bought that ride when Sega World closed down since that was one of the attractions there. So it actually makes sense that Micheals in it (and I guess it could be mentioned in the article) that he cameos in it as well.

"This is where you really get a feel for how amazing Michael's music was; it's still awesome even in MIDI, coming through the Genesis' crappy sound card, no less." It's not Midi, it's FM synth, PSG and DAC samples (YM2612 + SN76489 sound chips). Technically it's also not a sound card.

I revised this a bit for the upcoming Sega Arcade Classics Vol. 2 book...gotta paste it back in here at some point, it fixed that bit about the sound.
