Way back in the earlier days of the internet, I wrote for a site called Playstation Interactive, and Azure Dreams was one of my first reviews. Back before PR people gave free games to anyone who asked, we had to rent games. I...didn't really care for it much back then, though one my co-workers at my job really dug it. Fast forward eight years - I'd bought it awhile ago at a Gamecrazy sale for $5 and never put it in again, but I needed to take screenshots, and...I still don't care for it. But I don't much like these kind of dungeon crawlers anyway.

Also, I really kinda think the character artwork is HIDEOUS. Your character's little sister is frightening, and that one sick girl actually looks retarded in one of the pictures.

I didn't know Tao's Adventure was something of a spiritual successor either...

Tao's Adventure is ass compared to Azure. That may sound strange, but as much as I love rogue games, Tao was nothing but work.

I have to confess, I loved the game when I played it, almost failed some exams over the head of it!
I'n retrospect though I have to say it isn't exactly fantastic...but nostagia will always make it a good thing in my eyes alone!

But it's great anyway.

Man... you're absolutely right about the character artwork.

Looks like some over-influenced American Sailor Moon fan drew it. At least it looks better on the Gameboy Color.

I just think it's that this series has a character named Mia Myria (which is REALLY close to my own name!) And she wears glasses as well!
