I would love to, as I just got the game in the mail. Any tips on grabbing screen shots from PS2 stuff. The best I can do is take a digital photo, which doesn't look all that great.

A capture card. Digital might be acceptable, sometimes they can come out good. I like Shiki 1 a lot more on this run, but it's still unforgivingly difficult at times. I hope having an image of every stage and mini & main boss won't be overkill. I want to undertake a translation of this so badly. I hope the persons I've asked are willing, but that's a project beyond the scope of the article.

Hmm I don't really have the cash to invest in a capture card, but I know there are a few members here that have one. I am totally open minded to sending my copy of the game to anyone who wanted to borrow it for the time being, including yourself.

Nah, I could easily get a copy of it nearby. It's an extremely common game, just one I'd rather never own again.

I had an Iso for Shiki one and it didn't work.
II and III's did.

This right here is why the PC version is win: Art galleries. Is there a limit to how many images I should have? At very least, I'd like to have one from each stage, its endboss, and a few choice gallery excerpts.

I'm happy to see this coming along so well. I have a real love for the original Shikigami on PS2, since it's one of the few shmups I almost "mastered". Using Kohtaro Kuga & Zasae I nearly 1cc'ed it, but died at the penultimate boss, scoring over 203,000,000. Though the highest I've seen is 3,000,000,000, on the shmups forums.
There's a very small chance I'll be visiting a friend this weekend to record a video for youtube - would you mind if I spoke about your impending article, or do you want it kept under wraps?
Also, anyone know how to backup a PS2 mem card save? I naively thought I could plug a USB key into the USB slot, but no dice. Is there a homebrew programe which perhaps allows this?
Finally, should I track down Shiki 2, or jump straight in to Shiki 3?

I would get Shiki 2, but try and find the Japanese version. In all honesty, all three games are worth picking up.

If you like, the second part should be along by the weekend, hopefully. You should track down Shiki 2, as it's my favorite. The US version isn't bad at all, horrible dubbing aside. The dialogue is more or less an accurate translation. And it includes a very nice art gallery.
