I'm obviously too dumb to do what a lot of fighting game players do, so help me figure out how to get gamepad/joystick input working for... Kawaks 2DFighter GGPO I'm just asking for posterity.

First make sure windows recognizes your controller (go to controlpanel -> game controllers).
On Kawaks just go to to Game -> Redefine keys --> player 1.
I haven't heard of the other two you mentioned.

The latter two are online emulators that I used to play a lot. I'm... hoping to get back into them, let's say. EDIT: Alright, figured how to do it on those two. Thanks for Kawaks, Rey!

I don't know about the other 2, but if they don't have any options, try a program like Joy to Key, or Xpadder, that maps a gamepad to keyboard buttons. Works wonders for older PC games run in Dosbox.

Sotenga you lazy bastard. On GGPO, once the game is running, one of the window tabs has the option to map your controller buttons. Just look in the menus, it's right there.
