Just out of curiosity, has anyone managed to get 100% on the Achievements for this thing? Cool combos are going to be the death of me.

BTW: the link on the bottom of page 2 in the article which goes back to page 1 reads "Back to Page 2".

I attempted the cool combos, but well... Timings not my forte in this game. The achievements are just plain odd in this game. Not very descriptive at times. Still it's one of my favorites at the moment.

Onechanbara sounded something I want to play as a guilty pleasure but I lack a Wii or 360. The whole repetivie thing reminds me of another low budget game I unexpectedily enjoyed, Gungrave: Overdose for PS2. That game has shit graphics, low rate voice acting, repetitive shoot em up gameplay but it was strangely fun and lengthy enough for $15 unlike the first Gungrave which had decent graphics but the game was already over after 3 hours and I think it was priced $40? Ok, enough off-topicness. Aw man, the article makes the movies sound like they're not much of a step-foward for VG to Live A ctions cuz I was interested in them. Are they least better than Uwe Bowl's movies? Gungrave OD wasn't a low budget title? It was released in the west for 15 quid, but not in Japan? And so what the original was over after 3 hours, still worth every penny. It's not a deep game I can play again and again. But the game is all about that amazing art direction, can play it again and again just to see it moving. Both OD and Gungrave. OD was a bit too long for my taste though, prefer the hourly campaign of 1. Oops, sorry for talking outta my ass there! I didn't even realize Gungrave had a article here on HG101 either! Anyways, Kurt, do you think these silly MTV style viral commercials of the U.S. released Oneechanbara games are worth mentioning in the article? www.youtube.com/watch?v=V53F2Tlb_y0www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp-6_kzriOAwww.youtube.com/watch?v=tDUXMLQsH28www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAePxChcY98

I saw no Mension of this title existing in the article just called Zombie Zone it was the first in the series to get brought out to Europe though. www.play.com/Games/PlayStation2/4-/814802/-/Product.html#The publisher 505 Game Street (Now just called 505 Games) also messed up with another simple series 2000 game by Tam Soft with the title called Zombie Attack. The title itself makes no sence since the game has no Zombies in it you fight Chinese Ghosts. www.play.com/Games/PlayStation2/4-/879420/Zombie-Attack/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0The back of the boxes Bullet points do not seem to be for the game but a Oneechanbara one. The last bullet Point gose. . A story of Eroticism, Violence and Horror can you Survive the ZOMBIE ZONE? Even weirder is 505's web site(It no longer shows any of their published ps2 games at all) Description for zombie zone used the bullet point .Nice Irony And the Instruction book has a typo on its first page unless it was ment to say The Leaving Dead.

specifically, that EVERY SINGLE SCREENSHOT from Zombie Killer 2 is labeled "Zombi ne Killer 2", as is the title of the section. (: Someone is just a real big fan of Half Life 2: Episode 1 and/or Alyx Vance.

Heh, I knew the series startet out in the Simple 2000 Lineup, but I never knew those got actual releases outside of Japan. I should buy one of those just for the camp-fun value.
Also, the Vortex movie seems to be released in Germany a couple of weeks ago, so it prolly won't take much longer until someone picks it up for an english release.

Any plans of updating the article with the latest two entries? They did bring some significant upgrades to the gameplay, after all.
I find it quite interesting how those changes have divided the fanbase. While many agree that Onechanbara Z's introduction of a more complex fighting system has added some much-needed substance to the series, others feel that it cheapened the game's, well, cheapness. In other words, it is now too good for its own good. I never got around to playing the older games much, and I only got hands on the newest entry, because it was recently released on Steam, but I actually quite love it. A major appeal for me has been the fact that the series takes place in what can best be described as a "bootleg House of the Dead universe", what with the blue-skinned zombies, clawed hunchbacks, mechanoid demons, and other such silliness.

I just bought Z2 on Steam and I'll gladly cover it once I find the time, but the first Z one is still unattainable for me.

The PS3 version should be region-free. It features an additional playable cameo character from another series, but is otherwise identical, as far as I know.

I don't see how better gameplay would ruin the series. There's still bad story, bad dialogue, bad costumes to keep the campyness flowing. While bad gameplay is barely ever "so bad it's fun", but just bad. I played one of the PS2 entries and it bored me to tears tbh.

People like to argue the same for EDF 2017 vs. EDF 2025. I guess they have a point in that the latter is a bit less approachable, but I'd still argue it's an objectively better game. Hell, some folks even complain about the PS4 re-release EDF 4.1, because it doesn't have the terrible slowdown anymore.

We've got someone lined up for Z2 but still gotta figure a way to do Z1. I guess I could do it but would need to find the time.

Ugh, I hope someone's already busy making a no motion blur mod for this - it's horrible.
