My Halloween costume this year which didn't come out nearly as good as I wanted one a prize at the dance. My Scarecrow costume only lost to Satan himself. (Frankly, I think he rigged it but whatev, I happy!)

Miracles happen in life. My brick Wii all of sudden started working again! No idea why. Since its not related to power source, i think it just decided to lock itself out for next 24 hours. Very, very weird.
And now, since I already bought a replacement Wii, I now own two Wii's. However, Susanismyalias suggested to give it away as a christmas present, which is an awesome idea. I recently talked with my mother how she's probably gonna get my brother and sister a very own console when I move out, since I'l most like gonna take all games with me. If I can keep this as a secret from most of people, it will be an excellent surprise.
I have to admit though that I probably acted too hastly, but at least I now have enogh controllers for 4-person Brawl. This is also a good thing, because for some reason I couldnt transfer my old Brawl data, and now I have to start all over again.

Nice turn of luck, man. Glad to hear it worked out for you. Also, The Dark Knight rocks my world. It always makes everything better.

A nice, warm, fuzzy memory I have when I was around 8 or 9 years old was this one fall evening when me, my mom, older sister, and older brother were all at home together. My dad was probably at work at the time, but he could be such a jerk at times that it was most likely a good thing that he wasn't there.
Anyway, my mom was busy cooking and frying food in the kitchen for dinner. She had just the stove top light on, so it was still kind of dark in the kitchen with just a small, yellow light coming from above the stove. My sister had just come back from cheerleading practice and was still in her uniform. She was standing in the kitchen with my mom and they were both chatting about something.
My brother, meanwhile, was in the living room, laying on the floor on his stomach playing Phantasy Star 1 for the Sega Master System. I remember he was on Motavia, the desert planet, fighting some worm monsters at one point.
I wasn't really doing anything but just walking around from the living room to the kitchen and back, just hanging around in the background, observing what my family members were doing. I just remember feeling this warm, fuzzy feeling and at peace at the time. For some reason the atmosphere felt more cozy in that moment than usual.
I miss times like that. Just being around my family in a nice, peaceful setting.

I had to give a powerpoint presentation on Ritalin in class today. I've been sweating bullets about this all last week, and very nearly walked out before starting, anxiety and all that... then I got the ball rolling and hit the fucker out of the park! Not to speak too soon, mind you, but let's just say that other students came up to me and asked me if I ever considered teaching.
So the one-two punch of this weight being lifted off my shoulders, and actually getting some positive feedback on something where I thought for sure I was gonna crash and burn.
It's a good feeling.

When it's as cold as it is outside, and it's snowy and windy and now I'm drinking hot chocolate.
With a bagel BELT and a hot chocolate, I can get through anything.

Venture Bros. played one of Pulp's songs ("Like A Friend") in their last episode, but instead of playing the song that was on that episode, here's some of their other stuff.

This week marked the first time that I actually had an 8-bit NES "play date" directly due to my website. Always nice to retro game with a new crowd. Good times.

I don't recall if I mentioned it here, but I've been rehired at my old job for the holidays. I am beyond stoked. Best of luck to you, Camabyte! ^_^

Best of luck to you, Cam-Cam! If you show you're motivated enough, I'm very certain you'll land it. Also, there are at least three of you on this board (probably more) who have mailed (or are about to) me a kickass game free of charge. Not to sound needy, but I've been anus-poor over the entire latter half of this year, and that you're willing to boost my collection's quantity with quality is just all too respectable. Many thanks. ;D

I was (and will be) working at an independent bookstore. Probably the best retail gig one can get. I love books, and the owner was a great boss - he had to let me go for a bit because times are tough and he couldn't afford to keep me on in the pre-Christmas period. My rehire is not permanent, but it's a hell of a lot better than being at home all the time. XD More money, less boredom, and I loved it, so I'm happy as pie. ;D
