The article's still among the individual game articles, BTW.

When I get the chance I'm going to get rid of that classification. It made some kind of sense in the old days of the site when there were like 20 articles, but now it's almost meaningless.

I actually like it the way it is. It's nice to easily see what noteworthy games have spawned sequel (after sequel after sequel after spin-off) and which ones somehow ended up seemingly not appealing enough to most gamers to warrant another effort on behalf of the developers...or any follow up company or just any company at all.

Considering that part of the site's effort is to call attention to games that are worthwile despite critical and popular neglect, I don't think that's the point, anyway...

Also: This game is now like $12-15 at most places, including Target and Newegg.com. So you really have no excuse for not owning it.
I'm not sure why it was incredibly difficult to find six months ago, and expensive (I felt blessed I had nabbed the game for $30), while being in bargain bins now. Perhaps it had a second printing based on worth-of-mouth demand that didn't do as well as they'd hoped.

I'm stunned by how shockingly mediocre the soundtrack is for this game. S&P N64 had a stonking "psychedelic game rock" soundtrack with a ton of great lead melodies and some heavy synth-guitar soloing. S&P2's OST is so drowned in over-production, wall-of-sound, and orchestration, it comes across as messy. And certainly not very memorable. Oh well.
And I find it's still priced a bit too high in most places here in the UK.

I didn't like the music in either of them, honestly. A few good tunes here and there, but ultimately it always felt like it faded into the background underneath the sound effects.
I remember a Tim Rogers review called it like "pornography for librarians" or something else ridiculously silly.

Uh, I really like S&P's OST so far. It's enjoyable and compliments 1's nicely.
Also, yeesh is it difficult. It's like 'oh, you forgot we made Gradius V and Ikaruga? Let us remind you."

Thanks for the heads up! and by far the most hilariously out of place boss fight in the game. Which one is that? There are a couple of really goofy ones... The simplistic fighter-style battle against Deko where you're handcuffed to him. Edit: Or at least that's what I thought was missing from the article when I initially read it back when it was initially published but it seems to be there regardless, nevermind.
