www.hardcoregaming101.net/usagiyojimbo/usagiyojimbo.htmI'd only really known of Usagi Yojimbo from a cameo in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series (and thus the toy line.) It wasn't until years later that I realized that it was an indie comic. I'd also seen the Commodore 64 game on the store shelves but never played it. This expansive article goes over the history of the character as well as the well-regarded game.

Interesting. Wasn't there an action figure from the TMNT line of him too?.... Found it:

There are several action figures. There's that one, Space Usagi, TMNT 2001 Usagi and whole bunch of figures produced outside of the TMNT banner. My favorite would be this one

It's the same for me.As for the game,I've discovered it years ago and I wholly agree with the article: even though you are left wondering what could have been with more powerful hardware it's still a solid beat'em up. i hope this article means more article about old computer games Me too;I'm hoping for an article about Project Firestart sometime in the future.

Nice to have this game featured on HG101. I first knew Usagi Yojimbo only as a Commodore 64 game. It wasn't until years later that I learned about the TMNT cameo and its origin as a comic book series.

By the way, was this game released in 1986 or 1988? The article isn't consistant with the release year.

Ah that's a screwup on my end, 1988 was the release year as noted on the back of the cassette case.

Back in the early 1990s I remember hearing of a "game with a samurai rabbit" from some C64 owners. The descriptions fit perfectly. This game would deserve some retro-remake to expand on some details that weren't implemented right back then.
