Here's what I know: Compile folded in 2002. Some of their employees went on to form Aiky (Pochi and Nyaa) and Milestone.(Chaos Field) Sega owns the rights to the Puyo Puyo franchise and continues developing games in that series.
But who owns Aleste, Zanac, Golvellius, and their other games? Did Sega take everything when they got Puyo Puyo? Does Hudson own Blazing Lazers? Will any of these games be ported or remade in the future?

Good question. MP83 pointed out that there's a Madou Monogatari game on Aiky's website, so maybe they still own some properties, or have some sort of weird deal with Sega.
I'm guessing Blazing Lasers would be Hudson's property still. It's strange how it's a licensed property in Japan but not here - I wonder if that would affect anything?

I actually believe Hudson owns the majority of Compile's stuff now. I forget where I read this though. I always thought it would be cool to form a holding company and get ahold of these dead licenses. Shop them around and get some compilations going. It must be possible since there's that Japanese company that did it to get Haunted Castle released on the PS2 and such.

That's a Korean game. "Compile Heart" is just localizing it for Japan. Gotta love the Magic-Box-way-of-newsposting. Some things just won't change.
