A really cool little platformer for iOS, born from the limitations of the hardware it was designed for. Instead of having to press jump, your bean is constantly jumping, and you simply have to move left or right. Kind of the inverse opposite of Canabalt clones. Also much cooler. Has been ported to PC. www.hardcoregaming101.net/beansquest/beansquest.htm

Now available on Android! My favourite mobile Platformer in history. The OST is amazing too - very reminiscent of the original Sonic games with a South American flavour. I think the reason I'm so taken by it is because it really does ooze 16-bit from almost every pore - I dunno - it's just got heart... it's not old-school-ish just because it's in vogue right now; The classic flavour actually brings the best out of the game. Probably the greatest Mobile platform game so far. Awesome article btw... glad to see it represented on the site

Bean's Quest also got a sequel named Bean Dream. www.beandreamsgame.com/This time it's a free game that just force you to watch advertisement videos in order to support the creators (if you play without internet, you just wait for a few seconds till you can play again). Alternatively you can pay to get rid off the advertisements. It worth its money but even if you want to play for free, the interruptions for advertisements is tolerable. As a flashygoodness' fan I am (the composer of this game), I love the soundtrack.

And yeah, the flashygoodness soundtrack is even more brilliant than the first game, and that's saying a LOT!!!

" There's only one boss battle, right at the end, where you must chase Malmagoz through an entire stage of obstacles, using his projectiles as impromptu platformers"
You just mean platforms, right?

That, and also: "It also requires using a few tracks" which sounds like it should be "few tricks". Got to check this game out!
