For a long time I've thought that mobile phones weren't really the place to find a decent gaming experience. Then I discover this gem, a super creepy survival horror with some detailed pixel art. www.hardcoregaming101.net/nowhere/nowhere.htm

There's an emulator (I think it's called Kemulator) that plays mobile phone games. With the right type of USB chord, you can move your .jar files from your phone onto the computer and play it on the emulator. That's how I got screenshots. Alternatively, you can just download the .jar files straight to your computer if you don't have them on your phone.
It doesn't work with all games, though. There's this werewolf rougue-like that screws up whenever I get certain encounters, so I guess emulation isn't perfect.
Edit- They're jar files, not wap files. My mistake.

I recently heard from a guy who talked to DeValley on Facebook (I'm not into Facebook) that DeValley is porting Nowhere to iOS and Android.
When it comes out, I'm going to have to update the article and touch up on a few things. I guess I messed up on sentence structure at one point and made some stuff look misleading, so I'll have to fix that when I get chance too.

I would really like to try this game out! I went on DeValley's website to see if there was any news on their site (there isn't), but I checked through their games. They look awesome for being cell phone games and look fun or at the very least interesting. Hell, Gun Fever looks like a lost Treasure game in my opinion.

I was thinking of this game just recently. Any idea what happened to those iOS and Android ports? Amusingly, the link for Nowhere at www.devalley-entertainment.com/ now redirects to the review here.

DeValley was a wonderful studio in general. They made several high-polished, full-fledged games for mobile phones, and treated it as a legitimate gaming platform, putting lots of money and effort to make something at least remotely close to GBA/DS experience. Sadly, it was also very counter-productive, and nowadays they're mostly known for a bunch of run-of-the-mill shovelware knock-offs on iOS/Android, but it's interesting to think about what could have been with mobile gaming if their ambitions actually worked out.
GunFever is probably my favorite title from them - very charismatic and fun, and sadly forgotten.
