Strange they have only mentioned Genesis and TG16 for the Virtual Console, but on Nintendo of Japan's page you can see the MSX included too! The names of all the companies (old school) with VC games are there too. www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/features/virtual_console.html

Speaking of keyboards, Didn't MSX use a keyboard? How will it be played then

Didn't Wii had USB ports? Perhaps with PC USB keyboards?

A lot of games just used the joystick. Like, all of the Konami compilation games were perfectly playable with the controllers. If there were any other issues, they'd probably be mapped to the buttons.

They mentioned how Europe would be able to download US games that didn't get released (Super Mario RPG was the specific example used). If the US can somehow get Japanese games the Wii will be the greatest system ever made. I HAVE to find a way to download/otherwise get Japanese games onto it. The potential is too awesome to miss out on.

Considering they don't have to spend anything on advertising, publishing and distribution, I guess we could see Japan only games translated to English for America. That would be great!
But despite of how awsome the VC is, I still feel a little sad not being able to have those games in physical form, especially for those promised remakes they will make. I, as a collector, love to have the boxes and manuals.

Perhaps the game will include a 3D model of the boxes and PDF-style manuals?
Also, I looked at the list of companies. CAPCOM! Does that mean Street Fighter ports ports?

That would be great, but I don't see it happening... The best case scenario would probably be games that were already fully translated but never released--say, Earthbound 0.

Also as much as I want a variety of hidden gems, I think I heard something about forty~fifty games a year. So really we're only going to get the most popular items and guaranteed mass downloadable games for some time.

I hope American/European Wii owners can download the MSX games, but I'm predicting that the only games that would be for download if available here would be pretty much anything from Konami and that's it :/
(not that I'm saying that's a bad thing at all)

What about offering fan-translations a chance to shine? Nintendo could just make the Japan-only games available with fan-translated scripts.
