It will be $249.99 and come with one controller set (the nunchuck part and the wand part) as well as Wii Sports.
Launches on November 19th.
Games will be $49.99.
You will also for a small fee be able to download the Opera web browser software. The price isn't know yet but it will be in the form of whatever funny money they develop for the service.
All Virtual Console games so far will be between five and ten dollars.
An extra controller will cost forty dollars. Eventually they'll supposedly be selling the wand and nunchuck parts both together and seperately for customers that need to replace half of it.
The wand portion has a small bit of onboard memory. Unlike XBox Live while you'll have online account information stored on the system, you can have an avatar and controller settings and player information stored on the controller itself so that it can be used even if you bring the controller to a friend's house.
It also seems that first party games will be region free. Third party games can be region free if the publisher chooses to make them so (though I wouldn't count on this).

the Price is too much for what you're getting and the system needs to be Region free.
Strike that against nintendo.

As much as I hate region coding a lot of publishers won't bother with a home console that's region free due to their inherent structure. And while Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have all promised region free systems at various points it's in reality not a decision that's in their hands. Outside of that I don't see how it's too much. Personally I think it's worth it for that controller and the general system capabilities going by the various trailers/etc.

I want a system with no regions if the Publishers don't like it too bad Handhelds are region free consoles should be too.
I probably won't get a Wii myself I wasn't big on it when I saw the controller. I wasn't very happen when they decided to call it Wii Oblivous to all the thingy jokes it would generate and really, how manys ways can you wave a remote around before it gets old?
All ya really need is a 360 and DS
Don't get me wrong I'm not anti Nintendo but if the Wii was 150 that thing wouldn't beable to say on the shelves. I looks like it'll be another ninteno freak only system.
I guess I'll wait and see what needs to be done to play imports on it.

I'm disappointed in the price. I think Nintendo may be shooting themselves in the foot here (but what do I know?).
For $150-200, the Wii was in the category of "cheap enough to pick up on a whim." Honestly, if the Wii launched at $150 I would buy it just to have it and maybe get some of the Virtual Console games until something comes out I like. But for $250? Only $50 less than the cheapest 360? I dunno. The inclusion of Wii sports does nothing for me... I'd end up wanting to get another game with the system at launch anyway.
As much as Nintendo plays up their "innovation" the launch title list is really discouraging. There is already quite a bit of licensed junk on there (Spongebob, Cars, Ant Bully, Avatar), a TON of sequels, and the two "must have" games are themselves sequels that don't appear to look or play any differently than their prequels (Metroid, Twilight Princess).
So anyway, I guess what I am saying is that Nintendo will need to do a lot more to convince me to get on board.

When your biggest launch title is just a GC game with a tacked on control scheme, that...does not bode well. (Although they did delay the GC game in hopes that people would spring for the Wii version. Hmmm.)
Also Metroid being delayed pretty much took the only other really good game out of the launch window. Too bad.
I can't say anything about the price that hasn't been echoed already. $250 isn't a horrible price but it's a bit much and seems contradictory to the philosophy Nintendo is shooting for - especially since the complete remote/nunchuck costs $60. I think Nintendo knows it has a sizable portion of the hardcore gaming audience by the balls and they know they'll pay this price up front (reasonably expensive but still below the 360/PS3), then maybe focus on the casual audience (for real) in another year or two or three when they lower the price.

Well... I still think that it shows more promise than the PS3 at this point. I'd still like to get one, licensed launch crap notwithstanding. It seems like almost everyone here's looking at the launch games, but even if the best stuff isn't being released right away, it's bound to come eventually. Hey, the PS2 started out with VERY little going for it at launch, and look how far it got. I'd rather have a later game that runs flawlessly instead of an early-released one that's rife with bugs.
I have no idea as to what system will outsell the other, but for now, I'm siding with Nintendo.

Metroid 3: Corruption has now officially been pushed back to 2007 I'm going have to agree with Kyouki as well with the launch being really disappointing. The only games I found that are Nintendo published so far is Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Excite Truck (not including the Wii Sports that's shipping with the system). What the hell happened to the other games? I thought maybe Project H.A.M.M.E.R. would at least make the launch. The Virtual Console also has me a bit worried now. MSX seems as though it's only offered in Japan as it's only on Nintendo of Japan's site. I can't imagine how to play N64 games with the classic controller (I'm hoping these will require the Gamecube controller to play). And no announcements of America/European developed games? I mean there is a huge list of companies supporting it, but they're all Japanese companies.

I mean there is a huge list of companies supporting it, but they're all Japanese companies. Ubi Soft, Activision and EA are all pretty big on supporting the Wii. Granted, Activision almost never produces anything of worth, and EA's good/bad ratio is pretty off too, but Ubi generally puts out some good stuff. Although, they generally do multiplatform, so it's unlikely they're release much for the Wii exclusively, outside of Red Steel. So the Wii will probably just get gimped verisons of stuff appearing on the X360/PS3.

I'd like to see some good EA Genesis stuff on their (Road Rash, General Chaos, etc.), but no one has said anything.

Not to show a bias here but things keep looking better and better for the 360.
Do we have the offical specs for the Wii?

I really don't care, the Virtual Console is just too awesome for me to deny getting it!

Hmm... I am still kind of excited for the Wii, although not quite as much as before. I'll have to wait and see if it gets more promising titles. Usually, if a system gets a Castlevania it immediatly warrants a purchase from me, so I'll see. I still wish it well, though the 360 is looking mighty enticing at this point.
