Some bad news, some good news, but in the end the Wii still remains the console with the most promising games, both in quality and in quantity: Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda TP, Fire Emblem, Smash, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Trauma center 2, Metal Slug Anthology and some mysterious 3rd party titles like Wing Island from Hudson (maybe a new adventure Island game?), Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles from Capcom, some RPG from Namco and some not yet revealed action titles from Konami.

I do not understand for the life of me why people are complaining about the launch titles, when this is quite possibly one of the best launch lineups I've ever seen. I don't expect anyone can sit here and honestly tell me that the 360 had a better launch lineup, much less the PS3. It's also entertaining watching people bitch about how the system only comes in one color. Frankly, the price kinda sucks, but its nothing to get in an uproar about (which is pretty much the opinion I've seen). I'll still buy one at launch (or attempt to). My only real complaint is that I'd rather have it earlier. :\ Btw, has anyone confirmed if component cables will come in the box? That's what I heard, but I haven't seen anything to confirm it.

Every lauch lineup since the dawn of the industry pales in comparrison to the US-Dreamcast's (even if the system never properly matured). This is probably why people have kept complaining since then.
The 360 STILL doesn't have a good enough Price/Worthwhile-games/Workable-Combatibility factor for me. So it's not going to be hooked to my TV anytime soon unless it drops to $300(after tax, with Drive), or if I win one at one of the weekly raffles at school.
The Wii already has an inviting price. It just lacks the titles for me. But the compatibility and V.Console sounds nice, but not nice enough for a launch purchase, not yet at least.

Hmm... I am still kind of excited for the Wii, although not quite as much as before. I'll have to wait and see if it gets more promising titles. Usually, if a system gets a Castlevania it immediatly warrants a purchase from me, so I'll see. I still wish it well, though the 360 is looking mighty enticing at this point. AHEM Castlevania 64? I'm one of the few people on the face of the planet who actually liked it and LoD, so, uh, yeah.

*gags* Castlevania 64 rots. Horribly.
Anyway, 250 bucks isn't that bad. And at the very least it includes a game. Comapred to the 600 dollar price tag of the PS3, I'll have no trouble buying the Wii.

I don't care about the price being $250 all that much, what I do care about is the fact that they will only be releasing the White Wii and no other colors will hit the market until some time early in '07. I love black consoles, especially that nice shiny black that would have gone perfectly with my TV. I'm afraid that I'm gonna get it anyway, and be pissed later down the line that the black will come out and I'll have no way of getting it unless I trade in my white and pay more money to get the black, which is such bull.
Anyone know about component cables for Wii? Will they be the same as the ones for GC or something new? I noticed that on the online store at Nintendo's website they have the GC cables as discontinued, and they are going for over $45 on ebay.
Also to note, Sony is only shipping 400,000 PS3 units to the US and 200,000 to Japan at launch according to reports, whereas Nintendo stated they will be shipping 4 million worldwide between launch and the end of the year. Anyone know how many 360s were shipped at launch? I want to get a comparison to see how many more insane reports of people beating each other over getting the new system there will be.
In reply to whoever was talking about the memory inside the Wiimote, it was reported that whatever settings you saved on the Mote for a game would be erased if you tried to make settings for another. Pretty pointless unless you play one game from start to finish and then move on to another that you have specific controller settings for.

Wow, of all the things I've heard about the Wii, I didn't think the price would be an issue. A lot of old consoles costed just as much if not more when they came out. Maybe I'm being backwards, but the more technical and costly the technology is, the more the product would cost, not less. The Wii even comes with a game. Did the 360 even come with a game? I'm not sure.
Anyway, I support the Wii, if anything else right now.

The 360 hard drive comes with a game: Hexic HD (curb your enthusiasm).
Nightmare 371: I used to know the exact number, but I don't believe the 360 shipped that many more units to the US than what the PS3 is delivering. Something in the area of 600,000 (and there were massive shortages even with that)?
That bit about the memory only keeping settings for a single game is horrible to learn, it does make it pretty pointless. I thought it would be something like the 360's global settings where you can, say, have the turn stick inverted across every game by default, etc.

Ah I see, I thought the numbers were higher than 600,000. Still, it's a bit less than that, so take those shortages and apply them to the PS3. I just think it's gonna be interesting reading everyone's stories about how they beat disabled people that work in Wal-Mart when they were too slow getting their PS3 out that by the time they got to the case it was sold out. Fantastic.

Then there should be some stories about people who went to the store, saw the price tag, nagged at a clerk, then left furious.
