Also I refuse to believe the people in this image are not based on real people. DrPepper, the guy on the far right is indeed the famous driver called Stig Blomqvist : but he is NOT featured in the game , unlike two other drivers whose names you can find on various neogeo fan websites such as neogeospirits, UNLIKE that of Stig Blomqvist who is not listed because the fan/review sites only list INGAME selectable drivers whose names were altered into pseudos: From left to right Carlos Sainz becomes "C.Saint" (sponsored by Pirelli when he won in early 90s unfortunately I cannot find the source photo to compare), Juha Kankunnen (famous for his thick mustach in the given period) becomes "J.Kinkade". What about the third guy, between Kankkunen (n2 from the left) and the white haired guy (Stig Blomqvist at the far right) ?? I suppose it's Ari Vatanen, THE Dakar rally champion in 87,89,90,91 (neogeo thrash rally is from 1991 and features both international rally championship as well as Dakar rally). He is not featured in the game even under a similar pseudo, just as Stig Blomqvist isn't neither, my guess is those two only made it for the game cover. So according to me we have from left to right Sainz, Kankkunen , Vatanen, Blomqvist. Carlos Sainz (first from left to right)still has Pirelli endorsement and wears a cap showing it, plus he still looks in 2013 the same as in 1990 : I'm sorry but for Kankkunen and Vatanen (second and third from left to right) I could not find recent photos that show resemblance as they have changed substantially compared to Sainz and Blomqvist and I do not have access to 80s & 90s championship photos but if someone here does, just post them !

Forgotten about this one. In Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX, the debuting song AFRONOVA's background was a Photoshop cheetah-print rendition of a Reese Witherspoon model pose. This was obviously caught soon after since 4thMIX and onward changed the background art to this:

The poses on these covers seem very familiar to me. Sadly I can't work out from where.

The general from Desert Breaker appears to be "Stormin'" Norman Schwarzkopf.

I don't know if this counts but the $10 download ttle out tomorrow on 360 and ps3 Girl fight looks like alot of the stuff is borrowed from other games. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBtNDJLmxnQ Link to the offical trailer to the game. The Fighting moves look like alot have been copied from Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive. The stages look copied as well and in one of them they is a Mech from Mech Warrior series in the background for some reason.

I can't believe I just watched that. And whose name should I find at the end, next to all the copyright information, but MICROPROSE. Really? The name attached to stuff like X-COM and all the early Sid Meier games...and it returns for something like this? The game had better at least play good...

I think it's just yet another case of another company buying the name (also see: Tradewest) ...and after seeing the page on the Xbox site, and the trailer, yup... it's fucking MICROPROSE. Come on. This is how the current rights owners (some company named Interactive Game Group; 2K and Atari still own the rights to their stuff, thankfully) decide to bring back the brand?

Dr Pepperfan you forgot the winged creature on the bottom left, which is also ripped from Boris Vallejo's work: "the last stand" by Boris: Now all is left is to 'trace the influence' of the bard and the archer !

The labyrinth sphere itself looks like it could come from an M.C. Escher painting.
