A side-scrolling action-RPG for the Famicom Disk System, by HAL Laboratories. The same team that brought us Kirby. There's some rather... phallic imagery in places. But it's still an interesting curio. www.hardcoregaming101.net/firebam/firebam.htmAbout the article, I added the paragraph on problems with jumping, so I don't want anyone to think that Apachacha was the one struggling - it was me. But I thought it worth mentioning because platformers which don't allow forward momentum after the jump are problematic for some people. What do you, the readers, think of the jumping? Is it easy to work with, or did you have trouble?

Wow, a hermaphroditic elevator. Now I've seen everything. It looks like a penis and a vulva in one.

Yeah, it's more of a "futa" than a "Fulton".
Sorry, I didn't get a full night's sleep so I'm not on my A-game.

Than. Those are actually his parents. Bam is on a quest to save his parents, according to wikipedia. I got that thanks to in game events, actualy. Also, there's possibly an emulation glitch that I didn't mention in the article where one of the bosses before the end is impossible to beat. I spent hours trying to kill it, even restarting the last two dungeons before it from scratch. Not sure if it's just an ocasional glitch, a bad copy floating around the web or something with FCEUX, but it's not in the original hardware copy. I had to use Rey's code for insta killing bosses to get past that part. Should we bring that up as a note I wonder ? Also Rey here wrote the FAQ which allowed me to get through it, due to how complex the damned dungeosn get.

Well, I watched a nicodouga playthrough/speedrun to be able to beat the game and I don't remember coming across any impossible bosses. So it's probably a rom/emu glitch.
Also, that part about having to lose at the final boss to be able to get the last sword, I never encountered that either.

Is it easy to work with, or did you have trouble? Maybe contrasting it with Castlevania or Ghosts 'n Goblins would make that even more clear? Like, jumping is "stiff" in air like in those games, but the initial jumping range is based on Momentum like Super Mario Bros... which probably makes it one of the 8-bit platformers with the most realistic jumping physics, second only to Prince of Persia.
