Sort of related to the newest update on the homepage (what with the Megaman ZX mp3)...
I purchased this recently and am really enjoying it. A lot of people are comparing it to Metroid/SOTN/GBA Castlevanias, but honestly it is more like Castlevania 2. You've got a town, and the game is one giant level with lairs here and there. It's pretty much wide open from the beginning, though there are some locked doors you need to gain access to, etc. You can take on missions which gives you some other ways to earn money.
My only complaint is it seems way too text heavy for a Megaman game. The intro is super long but you can skip it.
I am hoping that IGA will take note of this game if it sells well and will eventually copy some of its ideas in a new Castlevania game, as I feel that the GBA/DS Castlevania games have been pale imitations of SOTN at best. It would be nice to see him try something new... it looks like the new DS Castlevania game at least has some outdoors areas, so that's something.

That's the first thing that came to my mind, Megaman Zero had one giant level, was text-heavy, had a huge-ass intro and had a large amount of findables.

Megaman ZX's world seems a lot more cohesive than Zeros's ever did, even if the structure ultimately isn't THAT different.
I haven't sunk nearly enough time into this as I wished (had to do four other reviews, of which three are now done) but Okami is out today so it might remain shelved a little longer. I REALLY like it so far though. Tell me I get the X suit back though, or at least something like it - I think, after much reflection, that I enjoy playing more as X than Zero.

You have to beat the game on Normal or Hard with both Vent and Aile then start a new game to keep X armor.

It doesn't matter once you get the super cool P Armor. Unlike the other characters he makes no foot stomping noise when running across thin platforms because he's a ninja.

It took me a while to really get into the flow of the game, but now that I've beaten it I'm really digging it. I just hope they give the armors a few more skills and/or abilities in the inevitable sequel.

Somehow, I doubt that, concerning that the portable series are much smaller:
Original: 7 games (including the unofficial Rock & Forte WS game) X: 2 games EXE: 6 and rising

I just bought this game yesterday (since thread parent said castlevania 2, I HAD to get it then ), and it really is a damn good game, though I've never really seen what the GBA Zero games were like. Frankly, this game reminids me a lot of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror: one world, lots of transportations, tons of locked doors, etc, though I think K:AM had a more complex world then what I've seen so far out of ZX.

Godamnit.
Slap me for my ignorance.
Yesterday, I was hanging out with some friends and spied a 25$ copy of ZX at the mall *Used* And I had just enough money for it, But then something else catches my eye. The first three volumes of Death Note (The best manga in the history of the world) And instead purchase them.

./me slaps mazinsaga around a bit with a very large trout.
What? I ouldn't resist using that joke!
Edit for beginners interrested in the Zero series: The Zero series is known throughout the fanbase as being the hardest, especially with the completist attitude of the first three. I recommend starting with the fourth one, it's the most n00b friendly, especially since you don't need save-stating to enjoy the game. (Seriously, this is the ONLY series I know of that's MORE fun with save-state capabilities.
