I just got into two SFC fire fighting games that are amazingly good. Fire Fighting and Firemen. They are interesting, original, novel games and VERY recommended. I also found Fischer Price: Fire House Rescue for NES but that is a different kind of game and not recommended. Firemen has a sequel call Firemen 2, which I have not played. Is anybody here familiar with more games like these?

I played one for the PS2 a couple of years ago, from Konami. It was really well done, although kinda boring after a couple of stages. Never finished it, ended up trading it back in.

The Firemen had a Japan only PSX sequel called The Firemen 2: Pete and Danny.
Also Jaleco put out Fire Fighting in the US as the totally awesome Ignition Factor.
sh3llsh0ck the game you're thinking of is called Firefighter F.D. 18, good luck finding a copy of it in any store though.

Burning Rangers FTW!!
Seriously, I loved BR back in 2001. Today it's so-so, but man it was a blast to play for the 1st time.

Ahh Brave, I knew it was something *impressive*.
Though that crazy SNES game where you're a firefighter and you play the game from an overhead perspetive fighting fires and rescuing people is pretty cool, I assume it was one of the mentioned games.

kal: Yeah, seems like you mean "The Firemen" from Human. It was one of my favourite SNES games and shamefully it's widely unknown. One of the few good nonstop action-fests where no one gets shot. Too bad that the sequel "Firemen 2, The: Pete & Danny" is not as good. It looks like a bad snes port (I think it was planned for release as a snes game, but got quickly ported to PSX, because the snes market was slowly dying at that moment) and it feels quite rushed. The game is boring (less action than in the first one), the ai of your partner is awful at best (he gets stuck every few seconds) and the level and boss-design is also not on par with the prequel. The only good thing about it is that you can now play the game cooperatively in 2-player mode (which is highly recommened, cause of the loosy ai), although I wasn't able to find someone who'd like to play it with me until now^^' I payed 40$ for it (good condition, without spine) which wasn't really worth it imho.

I'm going to go check out The Firemen and Firemen because I feel like playing them again now.
And there's also been that recent firefighting game which is a lot more of a squad based rts/puzzle game, not sure of the name but it's pretty recent (like last 3 years).
