And now, my personal favorite. The calligraphic armadillo is just beautiful, and I feel the later version kills it in a way I describe as like a kid vandalizing a Renaissance painting with a Hello, my name is tag. I agree with this. That is my favorite incarnation of the Infogrames logo, and yeah, the later one is absolutely bland.

I'm a huge fan of the "Gold Guy" from Lucasarts.
They frequently did variations on him for different games, which really gave the logo some real personality and made it super memorable. Last night I was reminded of an AWESOME variation I had totally forgotten about:
So bad ass.

While I know Taito has been mentioned in this topic once or twice, I feel I must post pictures of their logo just to emphasize how cool it was in the late 80s and 90s. Versus their older one.

I will always love the Sega logo, as well as the classic Konami logo. Another that I don't think I've seen mentioned yet is the forever creepy Psygnosis logo.

That is a classy version of the Infogrames logo. I'm not sure if I've ever seen that before. I don't really buy or play Infogrames games.

Psygnosis is a favorite of mine, as not only is it a great relic of the Amiga days of computer artwork, it was also designed by the amazing Roger Dean.

Always liked Neversoft's "spear through the eye" motif:
Acclaim's logo was also nice with the spectrum of color underneath the text:
Additional nods for Sega and LucasArts!

That is a classy version of the Infogrames logo. I'm not sure if I've ever seen that before. I don't really buy or play Infogrames games. It was used from 1997 until early 2000, in which it was replaced with this variant:

I like the second and third Origin Systems logos. It helps that they made the Wing Commander and Ultima series; two of my favorites.

The original (shapes) logo of Electronic Arts was pretty cool. Maxis, before EA ruined the logo in a final "fuck you" to its original fans. Psygnosis, too definitely. Konami in the 1990s. Atari before it became meaningless. LucasArts before they ruined it. Activision I admire not because of they're a good company, but how they kept the logo through thick and thin.
