Question time: Does anyone know how to get whatever that thing is on top of the pink-and-white jeep just before the power plant? It looks like a missile launcher, but I don't know what needs to be done in order to yoink it... unless it's just put there to troll you.

Alright so when you hit the lab part with the deadly gas The only room you can go through is the furthest one on the level down the stairs. The key you find just before that opens a room on the floor above but you probably won't make it back in time without going through the only unlocked door. I'm a bit further ahead and have managed to completely miss the key to the locked door inside the clone room - if anyone happens to know which room that can be found in I'd love to know (don't really want to backtrack through every single room to find it).

There's a trick with this one: After curing Eliot, go back to the hallway where Jacob's (the mutant doctor) lab was, then to the experimentation room past it. In the corner should be a dog. Now that you aren't experiencing some monsterism, you can get the key from the dog's collar.
Does this make any sense? No, no it doesn't.

Oh smeg, I actually completely forgot I'd meant to go back to him after meeting him during the event. It makes a tiny bit of realistic sense, a dog could probably outrun Eliot - so just assume the dog is uncatchable if it doesn't trust you.

So, who would win in a fight, Dogs Bower or Barry Burton?

The more I play Blue Stinger, the more it manages to surprise me with how stupid it can get. This is probably the most nonsensical, schizophrenic game I've ever played. It's as if someone transcribed a dream they were having absolutely perfectly.
This game is so dumb in fact that I feel we need to invent a new word to describe how stupid it is. You know how there's that German word "schadenfreude," which describes the joy one feels for the misfortunes of others? Well, Blue Stinger inspires this emotion in me: a sense of joy at the growing stupidity of a given situation. At first I could only feel exasperation at the depths this game would sink to make less and less sense. Now, however, I'm loving every stupid, magical t-shirt equipping moment of it.
That said, there still isn't a word that quite describes how this game makes me feel. That's where you guys come in! In what I'm dubbing the Dare to Be Stupid Challenge, I want each of you to come up with a nonsense word that encapsulates Blue Stinger in a nutshell. The winner of this challenge, which will be decided after a short vote by the GC9X staff, will have their name and word read on the podcast! The first two runner-ups will also have their word read. Words are due before the podcast starts, which will likely be towards the end of the month, say the 24th or something.

Lab Spoilers The greatest part is when Eliot makes his very own green shower and then a giant plant monster Dino thing tries to kill you. Also I want to say that if you're enjoying Blue Stinger, you'll probably adore Illbleed which is just as insane tonally but the controls are a little tighter and the games a bit cleverer. To me, it feels like a WARP game that's actually fun to play and not an exercise in sheer frustration and boredom.

Contest entry.
The Camp Bloom
It's where you hate something at first because it's stupid, but as you warm up to it and it grows on you, you start ot like it more and appreciate it for its campiness and stupidity. It's like growing flowers and when they finally bloom, the flowers smell like raw meat instead of flowers, but screw it, I wouldn't want it to smell any other way. I had an experience like this with Blomby Car.

[21:33:38] < sotenga> Question: Anyone willing to wager if he's bald under that bandanna? [21:33:55] <wildweasel> his bandana contains another bandana [21:34:00] < sotenga> Yes. [21:34:06] <NamelessFragger> "Infinite ammo." [21:34:17] < sotenga> I wish. [21:34:23] <wildweasel> if the primary bandana is removed and soaked in water for about 15 minutes it expands like one of those dinosaur sponges and becomes a t-shirt [21:34:30] < sotenga> XD

So I got through the end of Blue Stinger, it does have some form of new game plus where you keep your cash so if you're that way inclined I suggest grinding up in the Apartment area (which is your last grindable stop) if you want to have a lot of cash for a second run. You keep nothing else. Other ending stuff... You get 100 Small and Large Hassy's in NG+ presumably to drink away the pain of replaying the game again after the ending of cosmic stupid so fresh in your mind, gonna be a long hard night of grinding to get the 80 000 for the Ray Gun. You may get something else for completing the game quickly, I'm not sure - those of you not playing along could check but for everyone else we'll just have to see. But rather than bothering with Blue Stinger's NG+ I recommend Illbleeds which features disintegrating clothing and a completely alternative ending.

Having beaten the game shortly after KaL, here are some tips for dealing with the final battle: The trick with dodging dino satan's fire attacks is simple: don't avoid the flames themselves, but rather watch for the sparks they create on the ground. The second trick is to keep moving, only firing when you have a clear shot. During the second phase, it will sink into the ground, bringing it closer to you. It might seem harder at first, but it's actually easier because you can better see and dodge its attacks.
I'm not sure if I'm going to do a NG+ run just yet, but that was a pretty wild ride while it lasted.

Now that thread has gone a bit quiet, I've decided to dig up some information about Robert Short, the creature designer for Blue Stinger. According to his website, it seems that he's worked on at least three games, two of which were by Climax Graphics: Blue Stinger (obviously) and Illbleed! He's also done practical effects for a number of movies and TV series, notably Beetlejuice and Punisher: War Zone. He lists an e-mail address on his sight, so it might be possible to contact him for an interview!

That would be rad. Good luck, Snarb.
I just got the game a few days ago, so I'm only a few hours into it. But I like it so far. The camera angles are insane-ane-ane though. The game's environments are too claustrophobic for that.
Has anyone patched the English voices over the Japanese version of Blue Stinger? I'd love to play it with a fixed camera.
EDIT
Woah, wait, maybe the Japanese version already DOES use the English voices! I'll see if I can get an ISO working.
