So how come they never attempted to correct the mispronunciation of "Raiden?" It was even spelled "Rayden" in some games. I guess it had become a tradition at that point.

Hey, that reminds me: there's no mention of Unreal Championship 2 anywhere in the article, is there?

You're right! I should go plug in my Xbox later tonight and get some screens from my capture card. UC2 is pretty much Mortal Kombat: The FPS, anyway. =P

I think its also worthwhile to get some screens from one of the versions of NBA Jam which had Mortal Kombat characters dunking it out.

From what I remember from back then, those guys never made it into the final versions of any of the games. Gamepro had some shots of Raiden and Sub Zero doing slam dunks, but the NBA wouldn't let Midway put any MK stuff into the final releases.

I'm not certain, but I remember hearing that Special Forces was finished enough for review copies, but wasn't actually released at retail. Let me google that for you.$89.99 new?! Dayum. I remember hearing that the game was unreleased on... ahem... G4's X-play. Whoops.

It's better than it was in June of 2012, where it spiked to $125 till August before plummeting back to a more-reasonable-but-still-batshit-crazy $28.99 I might pay $15 for a sealed copy as a curiosity piece for the collection...but anything higher? Oh hell naw.

I dunno why I'm double-posting, but ehh... Anyway... just saw that Bally's pinball machine Theatre of Magic has a special "Mortal Kombat 3 Hints" mode activated by holding the right flipper as soon as you press the start button. Each time you spell T-H-E-A-T-R-E you get each piece of one of the Kombat Kodes (the "No Power Bars" one, apparently). Likewise, one of UMK3's Kodes, "Theatre-A-Magic" (987-666), gives you a hint for ToM. What's interesting is that the version of this table on The Pinball Arcade actually keeps this mode. I dunno if FarSight actually licensed the MK stuff as well from Warner Bros., though. I also don't know if that UMK3 Kombat Kode was kept on the console ports and Trilogy. EDIT: Forgot to add this, mentioning that mode: pinballarcadefans.com/showthread.php/828-Mortal-Kombat-3-Easter-Egg

Yes, I remember reading in Nintendo Power back in the day that they were making a big deal about clever ways to distribute Kombat Kodes. Did any of them actually appear in the movie?

According to the MK Wikia, apparently The Journey Begins had one on the credits... which didn't work.

The Kombat Kodes might have been a bigger deal if it wasn't FRIGGIN' IMPOSSIBLE to enter them fast enough and it didn't require two sets of hands.
