But the trailer is hilarious. That 'too many swordsmen?' line and montage had me laughing. Why wouldn't Nintendo try to bolster sales of their own game by cross-promoting? Everyone must have suspected that Three Houses was getting a character in Smash. Plus they announced another six characters for this year so there is still hope for those fanatics that want their favorite obscure character. People will always find something to complain about. Fire Emblem DLC trailer dropped today as well. I've been waiting on the release for that to replay Three Houses. Looks like I'll be playing through Blue Lions in February.

I'm mainly surprised by the fifth character being from a Nintendo game in general. The timing with the 3H DLC is too good to pass up though especially since it's the best selling game in the series. AltaĂŻr as a costume is a little interesting to me. Maybe it's a sign AC1 is going to get remastered? I don't think it ever got one, and I would be interested in playing it at some point.

It's a deserving enough character, but after 4 3rd parties it's dissapointing to have a character from an already very well represented series. FE is very popular these days, but there are definitely Nintendo series that could use an additional character more. Really, it's hard to imagine not being dissapointed unless you've played Three Houses. On the other hand, a gen 8 Pokémon is now pretty much a given. I wouldn't really know who they'd pick, though. Scorbunny would be the best one, IMO. But Byleth isn't even the most liked character on Nintendo Dream's list of Three Houses characters. This would be like getting Jaden Korr from Jedi Academy as a playable character in some other fighter. Both are generic characters with no personality and avatar characters. It wouldn't really make sense to pick another character since the whole point of the game is to pick your own side/story. And the generic avatar character worked out well enough for Villager, Robin and Corrin I think.

All the "base" Fire Emblem characters are the main character of their respective games with the only two non-MCs (Lucina, Chrom) being both clones/echos. There's basically zero chance that anyone else would be the 3H character chosen. Dmitri does seem to be the overall most popular character, but female Blyleth polls very highly too (based on the Nintendo DREAM surveys).

As boring as another FE character might be, I try to remember the state Fire Emblem was in only a few years ago. It had a very uncertain future pre Awakening, especially in the west. So I try to think of these characters as a sign that Fire Emblem is doing better than ever, that Nintendo is AT LEAST actively promoting the franchise and genuinely wants it to be successful, and that we’re gonna get more games. It could’ve been another dead series had Awakening not been a success. And I don’t want that.

Egads! Remember James Farr? He's been busy! Maybe it's a sign AC1 is going to get remastered? I don't think it ever got one, and I would be interested in playing it at some point. I was about to say, "Didn't that already happen?" But of course that was just the Ezio collection. I have the distinct impression people were very unimpressed with that one, so another remaster seems improbable.

Yeah, Assassin's Creed 1 is more likely to get a complete remake rather than a remaster. It's very simple and tedious compared to the later entries.

Just finished Shenmue 3 and I am ok with a Shenmue 4 They're complaints of the game feeling like filler, but I think feels more like a 2 chapters of a game. I am also glad the acting is better. It feels like a 90's anime dub which isn't a bad thing.

Woody Alien That's an interesting find, even if the game itself seems awful (the lack of blood makes every shot except those that finally knock the zombie down feel like blanks) and the concept is dumb and boring. I wonder if AKB48 members even get any residuals when their images are used in random products like that? Nevermind any say. It's most likely terrible, I just linked to it for the sheer absurdity of the idea. I'm wondering too how much these idol singers actually get paid for having their image used like that (and for thousands of other strange products too). I guess that there's no blood because everything featuring these girls must be "sanitized" somewhat to keep their "pure" image, even if in this context it really makes no sense.
I played it when I was over in Japan a few years ago. It's in one of those enclosed cabs with the black curtains and has a fan. The initial premise is funny. You pick your favourite girl then all the rest turn into zombies. After that you have to play it and it's a total stinker. It's not fun and will just chew through credits. Somehow I'm not surprised I saw another video, probably on Bandai Namco's official page, where it showed how not only there was the player's ranking when you played the game, but also the girl's ranking, meaning there was a scoreboard for the most chosen girl among the 8 available. So those otaku could deposit loads of coins in order to get their favorite girl on top, or better a virtual image of their "waifu"... better even, a polygonal rendition of a virtual image of their waifu, while the real singers most likely don't care or even know about all this stuff. Do they basically pretend they're actually "helping" their favorite girl through this bad shooter?
I just wonder how much popular could it have been, do you have any more info on it perhaps?

The info about how popular the girls were brings back memories. The cabinet it was in seemed like a generic cabinet they used to more 'spectacle based games'. It felt very like the cabinets for stuff like the Luigi's mansion game or the Transformers game. It had a fan to blow air into the players face and was a 3D game so came with polarized 3D glasses. The guns you used were fixed to the cabinet, kind of like the Operation wolf guns. I only saw the game in one arcade and it didn't seem very popular, I think it was a bit old by that time as well. Also with the way the idol world works I'd say it's a strong possibility that by then many of the girls could have been kicked out of the band and replaced with a newer model... so to speak, which would make the game less enticing to fans. As for the game, it wasn't very fair. It felt like an operation wolf type game were there is so much shit coming at you that you can't not take damage while the enemies took way too many hits to put down. All the games I tried in this style, like the transformers game, were like this and didn't feel very fair. It's a pity the game wasn't more fun as the sheer stupidness and absurdity of the premise was appealing. I really only played the one game as outside the novelty factor it didn't have much going for it and the games in these cabs were much more expensive than normal cabinet games so decided to waste my yen elsewhere.

Impressive coverage. I even see Elebits reference in there.
