Well, those that have a real need for well emulated GG games, there are quite some of those by M2 for the 3DS and the supposedly decent Blaze/AtMark Gear with 30 build in games.

(...) and the supposedly decent Blaze/AtMark Gear with 30 build in games. "Supposedly decent" doesn't quite cut it, as far as I'm concerned. You could easily hack a PSP (which is my preferred way of playing GG games) or a Vita or get one of the many other handheld devices out there and probably have a much better time this way. Not to mention that this thing looks ugly as sin and I already have my doubts about that d-pad just by seeing pictures of it. And only half of those games are even above average imo, certainly not the best selection.
What I'd want from any "Mini"-system would be a reasonably close to authentic experience, with great emulation, tight controls, a wide selection of good games and some quality of life improvements. Why even bother otherwise?

So I never quite got the bangai-o games. They seemed very complicated with too many systems and abilities and never could get into them.
So the other day I turned on my 360 and decided to give bangai-o missile fury a quick go.
And it clicked. Hard.
I've now beaten all 47 fury stages and have opened up 53 new ones. The game is balls hard but each level is more like a puzzle. The game is still to complicated but when you finally grasp it... Well it's one of my favourite games of all time.

Ah, Bangai-O - used to play that on my Dreamcast... which was almost two decades ago (oh no). Can't say I ever got to the point of completely understanding what was going on, but whenever the screen was filled with huge explosions and tons of fruit it felt like doing something right. I also adored the silliness of the cutscenes.

Oh I'm not done yet. 53 more levels. The extra ones don't seem too bad. Easier than the first 47... Except for 13 extreme bonus levels. Which are horrible. Few more hours to go yet.
I've the Dreamcast and DS game unplayed.

Well, of course one can always just emulate pretty much any game one can find on the internet via other means. At which point, why even complain, clearly any Mini console will pale to that as a collector's gimmick with very few games.

As far as consoles go,emulated GG(either 3DS VC,or PC) is FAR superior to a real Game Gear.

Just out of curiosity, there was a Simant game released years ago. Did they ever plan on making a Sims (not The Sims by the way,) game based on bees or termites?

SimAnt is fondly remembered by many, but I don't think it did so well as to merit such further consideration. Seems SimMars was definitely a thing and well on its way before The Sims completely took off and became a priority. It still seems very mysterious that the old Sim games haven't been re-released in some retro bundle or another when there is undoubtedly money to be made.

We're going in circles here, I guess, but have you even read the last paragraph of my previous post?
Overall high quality and authenticity (plus some improvements) would be the point. Give a company like M2 enough resources and the result will most likely be superior to most (if not all) homebrew solutions. The 3DS stuff you mentioned is probably fine, but that other thing seems neither high quality nor authentic in any way.
edit: If this was something closer to the PC Engine Mini, which has an excellent selection of games, I wouldn't complain, btw.
