Yeah its not a big deal at all. Can just remove them from the Steam library and uninstall the flatpaks. Just a bit of an annoyance to have to do so when I want to add new games. I'll figure it out once I get going I'm sure.
At the very moment I'm busy trying to fight with PS1 games on my 3DS. Supposedly big advancements have been made to get some of the more demanding games to run properly and a new forwarder has been made but I'm just having no luck with my main white whales: R-Type Delta and Tomba!. Alas, least now with the Steam Deck I'll have another option I can live with so I can actually play the things (least I'd imagine they will work on it via Duckstation) but I really wanted Tomba! on the go lol.

PS1 emulation has always been a disaster outside of the populist games until recently with the progress made on duckstation and the beetle RetroArch core. At the moment it's not really worth it unless you can get either of those on a device.

Beat Deep Fear.
I liked it but its lacking when it comes to the better survival horror games of the era. It's more action focused as you can get infinite ammo and health from refill stations. The first disc was a lot of fun with quite a linear progression through mini hubs. It falls apart in the second disc with a very long section that is more open trying to hit trigger points to move the story along. The acting is somehow worse than Resident Evil 1 with one very offensive attempt at a camp character. The bosses were a bit disappointing although I liked the creature designs. It looks great for a saturn game, the CGI cutscenes are good for their time. The standout is the music during these scenes, they somehow managed to nab the composer for Ghost in the Shell.

Playing Yakuza: Like a dragon and Infernax.
I’m currently on chapter 7 of Like a dragon, about to enter what I believe is a dungeon, or at least a boss (in Korea town). While I really like the game I am also a bit exhausted trying to do most of the side quests, activities, distractions and part-time hero stuff. There’s so much f-in stuff going on in this game at once...
Combat is incredibly easy so far though and I haven’t seen a game over yet. I hear there’s a pretty harsh difficulty spike in an upcoming chapter, so we’ll see how I feel about that (I actually like how casual this feels so far)
Infernax is giving me very Simon’s Quest/Faxanadu, but with much better control and more enjoyable and faster pace than either of those classics. I am having tons of fun with it, didn’t expect that. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up with these kind of games but I didn’t think the formula could feel this fresh in 2022. It does absolutely nothing new, just better than even its inspirations. Highly recommend!

Silent Hill announcement was almost a complete wash for me until the final announcement.
Silent Hill 2 remake will be made by Bloober team, a team that have yet to make a good game and have some horrible and quite frankly dangerous portrayals of mental health in their games. I expect this to miss the point of the game the same way the Silent Hill film did.
Silent Hill Ascension looks like it will be a co-op shooter live game with JJ Abrams new game development studio involved. I'd put good money on it being dead in 6 months.
And finally Silent Hill f. New game in the Silent Hill series which actually has the potential to be incredible. The visuals are insane and the story is being written by Ryukishi07, the writer behind Higurashi and Umineko.

Silent Hill is such a weird franchise. Remember Book of Memories for Vita?

"HIT THE LEVER!!!"
Yeah I'm already wary about a remake of SH2 as is then you put the hacks at Bloober behind it. Ugh, I'll still be curious to see how it turns out I guess but probably only via someone's run through YouTube lol.

Considering they haven't really done much in the home space recently, it's kind of surprising they're going so hard on one particular franchise. I'd imagine if they had announced, e.g., a Silent Hill, a Castlevania and a Contra (a better one that came out a couple year back), it would've attracted a bit more hype. Along the lines of, hey look, Konami is back y'all. But I guess Silent Hill fits a bit better if they're trying to do more mainstream AAA-style stuff. And Capcom's success with Resident Evil in recent years probably was pretty tempting to chase too.

The only two things that interest me are the games by the Higurashi guy (or he just came up with a scenario and other writers finished it) and the one from the Stories Untold devs. Problem is we know basically nothing about those so eh.
Everything else looks like the worst possible ideas for this franchise ever, and that includes the dungeon crawler. Oh boy, another movie, because that went so well before. Some community voted narrative...thing??? Oh and Bloober ruining one of the greatest games ever made by making James say the swears while crying. Oh boy, can't wait to see their take on the sexual abuse victim!
Not inspiring confidence.

So what's December then? Goldeneye? Or, even Smash Bros?

Wait, so there was a Resident Evil showcase the day after all the Silent Hill stuff? Is that just because it's October, or what's going on, lol.
