Just like we have a thread about obscure Playstation games, let's have a thread about obscure arcade games you like. I'm pretty sure there's already a similar thread but it's also a very old so I decided to open a new one instead of making thread necromancing. I'll start with this one I found today by chance on Youtube and I love it: Sel Feena, a very cute and enjoyable action game.

I always liked Black Heart. It's a lot of fun, just if you're interested in playing it, get the Japanese version.
Some others off the top of my head-
Wyvern Wings Gaia Crusaders The Crystal of Kings Outrunners Thunder Cross II Oh My God!
I want to recommend Shienryu, but some of the enemies and bosses are very poorly designed. It's fun, but has some major flaws that hold it back.
I'll have to check through my stuff to see what else.

A lot of the fun obscure ones I used to enjoy are generally considered cult favs now (like The Outfoxies and NitroBall). Super loved Shienryu. For obscureness, I guess I nominate its followup, Sengeki Striker. It's a pretty great spiritual successor (unlike Shienryu Explosion, which sucked)

I have a weird affinity for the late-80's/early-90's Namco library, outside of the more obvious ones. StarBlade is cool for what it is and when it came out, but my bigger favorites are Finest Hour (somewhat Valken-esque side-scrolling mecha platformer), Thunder Ceptor (if you've ever played HyperZone, you know what to expect here), and Exvania (or Bomberman with chain whips).

Very early Nintendo game. Looks to have been made either shortly before or shortly after Donkey Kong.

Reminds me of the first time I saw a Beatmania/Hiphopmania machine. I thought, for some reason, that it was motion-controlled, so you had to hover your hand over the turntables. It was especially painful because I had all of these people around me trying to tell me what to do, and I just WOULD. NOT. LISTEN.
But anyway, Power Stone and its sequel are two of my favorite games... Perhaps of all time.

More good obscure arcade games-
Metal Black Night Striker Edward Randy Change Air Blade Dragon Saber Steel Gunner Steel Gunner 2 Dig Dug II Desert War Total Carnage Waku Waku 7 (even though my friends hate it)
There was a Cotton Game that had you picking a team of three. It had better graphics than the other games in the series. I Can't remember the name.
Also, +1 to Outfoxies. I tried that one out after reading the article and loved it.

I'm trying to remember a really crazy action game (and kinda hard if not impossible) from Jaleco which was making references in classic anime like Fist of the North Star (you fight Kenshiro and when he dies he explodes) and Maison Ikkoku. Kitten Kaboodle (aka Nyan Nyan Panic in Japan) is another great obscure arcade game from Konami I highly recommend: hg101.proboards.com/thread/10290/kitten-kaboodleand Exvania (or Bomberman with chain whips). Looks really cool. I'll definitely try it. Waku Waku 7 (even though my friends hate it) Your friends have shitty taste in fighting games (I'm also a huge fan of Waku Waku 7).

A good while back a friend of mine introduced me to a brawler by the title of Arabian Magic on Mame. Never really see anyone mentioning it so I'm guessing its pretty obscure.
Not a big fan of the genre myself but its was ok. Had some funny engrish if I'm remembering right.

That's the one. Thank you very much. It's one of my favourite arcade games and one of the craziest and funniest I've ever played. I miss Jaleco.

Sweet mother of God! How comes I didn't discovered NMK's shmup games earler like Rapid Hero (which for one strange reason it's not included on gamefaq' database), Gunnail and Thunder Dragon? They're so fucking awesome! Expecially Rapid Hero:
Mecha fans will definitely love this game. How many shmups you have met where the same kick ass mecha is the boss in every level but with different forms (like Dr Eggman in Sonic games) and in the end you fight with the pilot himself which is a ninja that shows no mercy just like most ninja in video games?
Any other NMK fans here?

Very early Nintendo game. Looks to have been made either shortly before or shortly after Donkey Kong. The crazy thing is that it actually got an Atari 2600 conversion. It's much more simplistic compared to the arcade version, though.

NMK sounds familiar. I think they made Desert War and a bunch of other stuff published by UPL? My favorites from them are Omega Fighter, Black Heart, and Bio Ship Paladin. Omega Fighter has a complex scoring system that rewarded you for killing enemies close to your ship over ten years before Ketsui. Black Heart is amazing, but it's very slow paced. Its loop 2 is super hard. Bio Ship Paladin is also good, but has some cheap/frustrating moments. It has a lot of interesting ideas that are fun, but could have been implemented better. I know it got a Genesis/Mega Drive port, but I've never tried it, so I don't know if it fixed any of the arcade version's problems. I've only played Saint Dragon's Amiga port, so I'm not sure on that one either.
I've never heard of Gunnail or Rapid Hero before. Maybe I should look into them.

Gunnail scoring system is particular too. Basically you have four hits shield, and multiplier occurs AFTER that you get hit (i.e. if your shield bar is empty any enemy that you destroy gets a x3 score points).
Hacha Mecha Fighter is another fun and obscure game by NMK. A particular with the scoring system is that hitting the right edge of the screen gradually incrases your score (game always scrolls from left to right iirc).
