C'mon. Who wouldn't want to tap that? It's telling that the only other vampire to have teeth in that style was Count Chocula...

I'm surprised you guys like the Interview with the Vampire movie better than the book. I found the movie so unbearably cheesy compared to the book that it's hard to watch, even kind of embarrassing if someone else is around. Granted, I probably wouldn't be able to take Anne Rice's books anymore either, but for a 14-year-old girl, they were great, haha. I guess they were my Twilight before Twilight existed.
I'm sure we can all agree that Queen of the Damned was a TERRIBLE movie, though.

Every other sentence in Rice's books is, "Oh, I feel SO tormented. But my hair is so long and luxurious, and this other male vampire next to me looks like a god." Barf.

Honestly, the only Vampire Fiction that I was really much of a fan of was Forever Knight (before I finally saw Coppola's Dracula).

I really loved the original Anno Dracula novel. From what I've heard, the series really went to shit after that, though.

Best Dracula: Seriously though I was always a fan of how he looked in Marvel's old "Tomb of Dracula" series. I was totally bummed when I found out "hey, Dracula's gonna be in an episode of Avengers Assemble" and then I saw that they made him look like a ripoff of Kain. Then again that show sucks. GAY VICTUS!

To me, it's Lugosi who really gives off an "old queen vibe". Coppola's Dracula left behind Monica FREAKIN Bellucci (one of his succubus (succubii?) to go feed on Young victorian blood, and shtoop Winona Ryder. So Lugosi, yeah... an indoors man.
It's the old Coppola trick he used when creating Brando's Colonel Kurtz in "Apocalypse": MAKE THE PSYCHO SYMPATHETIC - AND IN MANY WAYS ADMIRABLE IN HIS REASONS FOR MADNESS. Both remain noble in the heart of their darkness, and both welcome death with as much nobility as they have. There^s still something human in them = bingo!
And like Kurtz, Coppola's Dracula loses his sh*t because the hypocrisy of his world's morals simply makes him mad. Like Kurtz, Dracula fought for things he believed right. God and love, in his case. AND HIS GOD BETRAYED HIM AND TOOK HIS LOVE AWAY FOREVER. I WOULD REACT LIKE HE DOES, FOR IT IS THE ONLY HUMAN REACTION POSSIBLE. And he was betrayed and puniShed for it. Lugosi is just a Monster from ye olde times. Coppola's a terrifying warrior whose God repays his love by taking away the only thing he loves... his love. I would have made the same choice he made at the end of the movie's Intro. We all know how many people reject God when confronted to a seemingly ungodly unfair death. He did the same. AND he was a psycho... More about the nature of loss and grief than anything else. After this intro, you want him to get some good bloodbath.
I liked Interview with the vampire when the movie came out, but Cruise was infinitely camp at second viewing. Ridiculous. Off-putting. And... ah forget it. Banderas litterally made me cry tears of laughter. Just terrible, "tortured yet played by Brad Pitt" bull that led us straight to Twilight.

every thread about gay people devolves into vampires Dude, that was some mighty symplifying. But! When it's gold, it's gold people! We have an Internet winner here. Accordingly, every vympire discussion devolves into sexual identity cliches. BTW,Ike, I love your shaking effect. Reminds me of that (start at 00:29 Every year millions of effects. This one still remains quite creepy. Go Finch. Those f"ckers destroyed the cargo pants industry.

Good point. He said he was the all singing, all dancing crap of the world. Singing and dancing...that's pretty queer.

Count Orlok is my hero. I don't think there is a properly satisfying Dracula film but Nosferatu is my favourite. Havent seen the Christopher Lee/Franco version but the Hammer/Christopher Lee ones aren't that great, some are terrible. Havent seen the Jack Palance one either. Lake Of Dracula is pretty good. The Frank Langella Dracula has some good scenes but is ultimately forgettable. Bela Lugosi's Dracula is boring; but also haven't seen the Spanish Dracula from the same time.
I'm surprised the stories about Greece aren't getting much attention, about the internment camps that are holding transgender people as criminals. Scary stuff.

There was that movie with John Malcovich where they proposed that the reason Nosferatu was so awesome was because they hired an actual vampire to play Count Orlok. Not the best vampire movie, but it always stuck with me nonetheless. www.imdb.com/title/tt0189998/

I'm surprised the stories about Greece aren't getting much attention, about the internment camps that are holding transgender people as criminals. Scary stuff. Because they aren't true. Basically the gist of it is that one "media outlet", if they even deserve to be called that, grossly exaggerated and sensationalized the story on Operation Zeus, purposely using language that would draw parallels to Nazi Germany, despite the fact that it is 100% false. There are no "internment camps" in Greece. The REAL story is that Operation Zeus is an initiative to crackdown on illegal immigration in Greece, which is a legitimate problem there (from what I've heard there's more crime committed in Greece by Albanians than actual Greeks; granted, the country still has one of the lowest crime rates in Europe), and there are questions that the police are abusing their power and using racial profiling. If true, that's a problem, no doubt, but it sure as hell is ridiculous to compare the situation to Nazi Germany. From what I've heard, sometimes the initiative also cracks down on other crime, like drugs and prostitution, but it definitely has nothing to with targeting transgender people or homosexual people. From what I could dig up, there were a few transgender women who were brought into a police station briefly during a prostitution bust and then released with no charges when it was determined that they weren't involved. That's the only mention I could find of transgender people in association with Operation Zeus outside of that ridiculous article that some duped people are spreading around the internet. Everything else I've heard and seen talks solely of illegal immigration. Really, anybody who knows anything about Greece would know that the story is a joke right off the bat, as far as LGBT issues go. Older Orthodox Greeks may be pretty conservative, but the country overall is quite welcoming to the LGBT community. It's an extremely popular tourist spot for gay people, and it's also a very popular destination for gay weddings. Considering a huge part of Greece's economy is tourism, they'd never bite the hand that feeds them. I have to wonder if maybe this story is born out of the fact that Russia has all this ridiculous stuff going on, and like the Russians, the dominant religion in Greece is Orthodox Christianity. And considering Americans don't know crap about the Orthodox, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd lump them all together.

Thankyou for being so informative. I knew I should have read a bit more into this before I posted.
