Yeah, if a bit of crowdfunding is required, I'll be willing to throw $50 in too if necessary.
By the way, if we're gonna be doing that crowdfunfing thing, shouldn't we start it right now? I mean, if the auction attracts agrassive bids, we'd better be prepared or the opportunity might very well evaporate before us.

Well looks like ponkblombers wants this pretty bad, I'm not immediately fussy but got a thing for lost media myself. Im not really keen on getting this but i would put in 50 to have it released. If it was in the 90 pressing version i would be all over it like a rash.
I suggest mr ponk, you say you have your 500 bid. you have now 150 more to go towards it. So you can put in a 650US bid and can hope that it would take it down. It says something about early termination, Im going to find out what thats all about. Either way I will give you the ropes for the cheapest rates i have heard for couriering japanese goods, which would be 19% of the bid.
3000 copies + 90 special edition, get it mang.

Bookmarked! Has anyone used that Buyee service that they advertise? I haven't ordered anything off Yahoo Japan Auctions for several years, and I know some of them require quite a bit of hassle (high fees, huge deposit required, etc.) I'll start a pledge here - I'll start it off at $50 for myself. I like it. It's basically Tenso's auction bidding branch. The only issue I have is the fact that you have to keep a card or paypal thing on file, and give them automatic authorization to bid. But it's a hell of a lot cheaper and faster than Rinkya was. Orbus and I were talking about it a couple weeks ago: hg101.proboards.com/thread/10963/advice-buying-yahoo-auctions-japanEDIT: Best feature? Sniper bids. Anyway if anyone wants I'll be happy to do the purchase, I've got some items that I need them to send over within the next week or so. We can work things out later.

WOW, AWESOME! Fingers crossed one of us wins it! Also, I'm all for crowdfunding if the auction price gets out of hand (though, as a broke student, I'm afraid I can only chip in $15 or $20 bucks).

So if this game does get uploaded to the internet, who's going to translate it (assuming it needs a translation)? cc0 is already busy with Chu Teng, and he deserves a break once he's finished.

Good question. Judging from the short playthrough snippets I watched, it looks like a translation will be needed, though I can't really help much in that department unfortunately... So, is ponkblombers officially our bidding guy? It'd be useless for more than one of us to bid, as it'll only drive the price up more.

Not sure. cc0 backed out because he felt that ponkblombers wanted it more than he did, but Joseph Joestar and Discoalucard are also interested. We really need to narrow it down to just one person. I won't do it because I have absolutely no clue how Japanese auctions and international shipping services work. 5 days remaining on the auction. The wait is going to be painful, especially since there's no telling what will happen in that time. If only there was a "buy it now" option...

In regards to crowdfunding, I've spoken in PM with some other people asking for their opinions but other than paypal what are some safe, trustworthy options I have for putting the money in one place. The money does not need to come in immediately for me to raise the bid, but I think it's a good idea to organize something. Should I wait until after the purchase is made to add a donation button for paypal, or should I do something else beforehand? I want to make sure that everyone's money is safe and I want to use a trustworthy system that can hold me liable if I scoot away with the money or something. PayPal seems like the simplest, safest option to me (just my 2 cents). On the one hand, if you were going to wait till after the auction to collect funds, you may be hesitant to put a higher bid on, for fear of the contributors not coughing up their share afterwards. So yeah, I would probably get a fund setup before the end of the auction so you have a confirmed max amount to work with (again, just my 2 cents, if you have a better idea, please put it forward). The only thing is to be absolutely sure that you will be available before the end of the auction; it would suck if, say, for instance, you forgot about it, or you were without internet, and none of us placed a bid, thinking that you were going to. But I'm sure you are well aware of that, and seem pretty keen to get your hands on this game like the rest of us. It's going to be a long 5 days haha... Of course, if they aren't already available I'll get hi-res scans on the box and manual and whatnot as well. That would be awesome; I would love to have high quality scans of all the assets (manual, box, disc, case inlay, etc.) so that I could print myself off a nice complete copy (as I'm sure many others would too).

There it is: the donate button for bidding on Garage Cool, good work; I should (hopefully) be able to chip in $20 within the next couple of days.

Do you plan something similar to what discoalucard mentioned earlier - buying then re-selling and giving money back to funders based on their contribution - or do you intend to keep the game?
