Most of us have one...that is, a game or series by EA that we just HAVE to own. Yes, we know that EA is technically evil, swallowing small, independent development teams into its gaping mouth, poor QA and buggy inital software, tons of patches, and a lack of creative drive that almost seems to bring the entire industry down.
For me, its Battlefield. I pirated the first one (1942) and once I played it, I HAD to own it for a real CD key I could use in online play. I have bought every one since, and even with all the negative press around Battlefield 2142, I had to get it.
Even before the spyware myth was debunked I bought it and willingly installed it. Let me repeat that: I DOWNLOADED and INSTALLED something I thought was SPYWARE, COMPLETELY AND WILLINGLY. That has since been debunked, as they simply just beam ads to you and then rate how you look at them in the game (note: I actually haven't seen any ads yet, maybe I'm not looking hard enough), but a new battlefield game was something I just could not be without.
So, who here has a game published or developed from EA that you absolutely love, but feel so guilty about buying b/c you'd be supporting EA (Battlefield, Madden, Timesplitters, C&C, etc)?

I have a few EA games: The Immortal, Lord of The Rings Two towers, RoTK and The Third Age. I don't remember Timesplitters being from EA.
I really don't care if a game is made by EA as long as the game is playable.

Timesplitters was developed by Free Radical Design. They've only done Timesplitters series and Second Sight so far, but of all the developers that are made up of "the makers of Goldeneye" this is the one with the most actual people in it. EA bought a few publishing licenses from Eidos when Eidos was in a slump, hence their publishing Freedom Fighters and Timesplitters: Future Perfect in the US when Eidos published all the previous and future titles from those developers here (except for Second Sight, which was brought here by Codemasters).

I'd mention Timesplitters 3 and Freedom Fighters. The later Burnout games too. Those are all by outside studios though, even though EA bought Criterion awhile ago. I guess the only game actually created by an EA studio that I dig is SSX.

Timesplitters Future Perfect is the only EA game that I've ever purchased at full price. Usually I wait until the price goes down (MOH: Pacific Assault) or buy it used (C&C Renegade).

Burnout is my main EA guilt trip, though the series has really reached a bit of a plateau.
Also buy the non-tuner NFS games like Hot Pursuit 2.

Burnout 3: Takedown is hands down my favorite racer and I dig SSX. The only other games I like from EA are their earlier titles (Road Rash series, General Chaos, Haunting Starring Polterguy, NHL 94, etc.). An underrated EA game that I'd recommend that isn't quite old is Beetle Adventure Racing for the N64 and that's coming from a person who doesn't particularly like racers

I won't lie, I love the Def Jam Vendetta games. They're really fun, especially since I actually like rap music.

The only EA game that I ever bought was Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. They are an evil company but I had to buy that one because the game was original and by an independent developer that was really cool. Any other EA game I would only buy used (hahaha sticking it to them while I still get a chance to play their games-take that jerks). I've had interest in buying Black, SSX3, and a couple others but never bought them. Oh, I forgot. EA did co-publish some Squaresoft titles back in the PSX days before Squeenix so I have some of those but I'm pretty sure I bought all of them used.

I also bought Oddworld Strangers Wrath which is an excellent game that puts a whole different twist to the first person shooter genre. Bugs for ammo!
I'd have to say EA was the first to make a real good WWII shooter ala Medal of Honor but the series just doesnt seem fresh anymore not to mention all the other copy cats who saturize the WWII genre.
The SSX games are by far the best snowboarding games ever made as Tony Hawk is the best for skateboarding.
Even though most of the James Bond games have been mediocre since Goldeneye, Everything or Nothing is an excellent James Bond game that has many different types of gameplay thrown into an original story and authentic hollywood voice acting.
Yes, EA is a monster gaming company that devours little companys but they still have some great games. I predominatly tend to play games that are more unpopular in america, shin megami tensei, Ys, etc. but every once in a while I'll throw in a EA game.

Uh, I kinda like Beetle Adventure Racing? I'm sure I own some older EA games on a variety of consoles, but I can't really think of any examples other than that (and that one only came to mind because of Gilder's mention). I can't think of any I like much at all other than that either. So I guess I'm relatively EA guilt-free? :P

*scratches* Guess I'm the odd man out. I don't own a single EA game, and I don't intend to for a long time.

Burnout Revenge, Syndicate Wars and Clive Barker's Undying. All good games made by smaller studios but finaced/published by EA. And bunch of older titles I cant remeber right now (before they became a giant evil megacorporation and were just a moderate evil corporation). Ohhh, almost forgot, Road Rash 1-3 and the PC one. (Edited: Sorry, said Need for Speed, was tired)
