Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors and Dragon Ball Adventure for GBA, those are the only good 2d dbz games in existence.

Whomp Em' for the NES. It was a Dragon Ball game, but the graphics were changed to make the character...Native American. Its pretty obvious that it's DB game when you get the ability to summon a cloud.

Number 1 Game is Legend of the Super Sayain (SNES) (its an RPG though) Dragon Ball Z Super Butuden 2 & 3 and Hyper Demension is amazing. (SNES) DBZSB2a DBZSB3 Hyper Deminsion Dragon Power (NES) is also very good and was released in America. Dragon Ball Z 2 (RPG) for Nes is a must

Actually, Whomp Em was just based on the legend that Dragon Ball was based on.
Honestly man, I went through my DB stage a few years back and I gotta admit that the old games are total ass. Even Hyper Dimension which is SUPER PRETTY plays like a turd. I heard some good stuff about Legends though I've never played it.
The newer DBZ games aren't too bad at all. Budokai 3 is surprisingly deep and playable at a high level and Tenkaichi Budokai is rough around the edges but a lot of fun.

I heard some good stuff about Legends though I've never played it. Legend of the Super Sayain is really good. Its by far the best rpg for dbz ever made. Way better than Legacy of Goku for GBA IMO. You should really try it out. Its translated 100%

Oh I've played that, it's alright. There's a couple fights in the game that are IMPOSSIBLE to win unless you have certain cards and/or a great deal of luck.
I was referring to the PSX Legends game actually. I saw some vids on Youtube and I can't decide if the game would be fun or retarded.

Its pretty obvious that it's DB game when you get the ability to summon a cloud. Whomp Em' was originally Saiyuki World 2 for Famicom, not a Dragon Ball game. The Wonder Boy article at this site has some info on the first Saiyuki World, also for Famicom. It says that it borrows heavily from Wonder Boy in Monster Land, and from what I played of it on emulator, I definatly agree. Dragon Power was definatly a localized Dragon Ball game, though. The changes were very odd. Goku's hair was changed, Oolong's name was changed to Pudgy and he was made the son of a couple of villagers, Yamcha's name was changed to Lancer, and everyone talks like Captain Kirk.

I really like Hyper Dimension, but I have no interest in DBZ, so I consider it a game that is good enough that you do not have to like DBZ to like. If you are looking for a good emulatable fighting game regardless of theme that game is recommended.

Legends for Playstation is......alright, if you like DBZ. I know that's not it's real name, but everyone under the sun that I know have been calling it that for years, so I never bothered to get it's whole name. I will tell you that I like it more than Ultimate Battle or GT: Final Bout.

I really appreciated Ultimate Battle 22. The Saturn version was a lot better but harder.
