Anybody else wonder how come Konami doesn't release an arcade collection for consoles? What's taking them so long to get on the bandwagon? They have so many great arcade games to put on an Xbox or PS2 disc. They are releasing now so many collections for the PSP, and while I have one, I'd still like to play some 2-player games on my television and use my arcade sticks. Even more, where's my arcade emulation of Sunset Riders? More and more I just see this company as a Metal Gear and DDR spewing machine. While I like these games, I get tired of the same crap, even if it is good, after a while just like anything else. Where is the Konami that I loved in the SNES, NES, and Genesis eras? They seriously need to revisit some of their old classics and come up with some new ones.

The truth is Konami did invent the concept of "arcade compilation for home systems" back in the first days of the 32-bit era with its "Deluxe Packs". And it had its iteration on the PS2 with Gradius III & IV, and now its successor may well be the "Portable" series (which, I agree, sucks for being indeed on a handheld system).
I don't see them developing another compilation series for actual consoles (since they, most likely, will use the online services for the "next-gen" systems to release the ROMs and whatnot), but you currently have Hamster's Oretachi Geesen Zoku collection for the PS2, which is including many Konami games like Contra. It's one-game-per-volume, but quite cheap and well-done (lately).

Vysethebold, while I agree that Konami isn't really doing much in the way of variety, you've still got to admit that it's not entirely true. An OK example would be their semi-new Boktai series and its upcoming offspring for the DS: Lunar Knights.

You cant consider them a "Metal gear spewing machine" Seeing as how they only release one every two or three years. You cant really consider them a spewing machine at all, and if you do then I suggest you consider nintendo a mario/zelda/metroid spewing machine (even though they hardly release those too) Even if they were too, you have to remember all of the titles are quality.

I know I'm being a little harsh with Konami, but I really want a console arcade collection and I see no reason why they don't do one considering that these collections are very popular right now. And, masinsaga, Konami actually has released quite a few Metal Gear games in the last two years: Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (many see these as comepletely different games considering it has a lot of extra material and different camera angles), Metal Gear Acid, Metal Gear Acid 2, and Metal Gear Graphic Novel (PSP). I am actually really excited for the new Castlevania on DS and Lunar Knights, as well. Again I like them, but I just want something new or, in the case of the arcade collection, something old every once in a while.

Then complain at holywood for releasing special editions of a game. Capcom does it, nintendo probably will start dong it.
Also the problem with this is most of those games we're developed in house by konami but have different publishers on them so they would have to spend time and money getting rights from the publishers
